“Unforgettable stay”

I stayed at The 'L' Suites with my husband and 4 month old in June. The owners, Katerina and Stelios, were fantastic. They were extremely friendly, gave us brilliant local recommendations and made our stay unforgettable. The pool area is stylish, clean and relaxed, the food was fresh and the pizza was exceptional. The staff regularly entertained our little one whilst we ate our dinner in peace. The rooms were clean and spacious with working aircon (unusual in Greece).

Ok I’ve waited a week to write this review. The staff are absolutely lovely. The manager is very accommodating and nothing is too much trouble. You need a car as it’s 25 min walk into town downhill but much harder up. The food is good. The pool area is really really nice and the staff bring all drinks out to the pool. Breakfast is ok, a mix of continental and cooked. I really enjoyed our stay. Ok now for a couple of negative points. The rooms are tired. No windows except your entry.door. The a/c is adequate. The pictures in the rooms are basic. My son slept on a single bed in the lounge area that was really uncomfortable and didn’t fit his 6ft frame. The room was only ok. I’ve enclosed some photos of the rooms cleanliness. It’s not a cheap stay and I would expect a slightly higher standard having said all this the staff are lovely.

I have mixed feelings about our stay here and will try and be fair with my review. We had our own vehicle as I’d seen that the property was on a hill and the views were spectacular as we arrived. We were greeted by Kathleen who was lovely, very welcoming and friendly as she continued to be throughout the week. The pool area is beautiful and the sunbeds plentiful and comfortable. We were shown to our room which was Room 2. Stelios had assured me that the bed in the lounge area would be fine for my 6’1” son. As soon as I saw the room I was disappointed. Our bedroom had a dirty window looking into a stairwell. There was a lovely dressing table area with a huge mirror and plenty of hanging space but nowhere practical to put other clothes, no drawers or shelves other than those so high up that I couldn’t reach them. In the front part of the room where my son had to sleep there was no facility at all for clothes so he had to leave everything in his suitcase. His ‘bed’ was solid and not really big enough for him, luckily he’s a teenage boy and able to sleep on a washing line. The entrance to the room which leads to the terrace is a plastic front door as on a house and next to it a window. No real light coming in so you need the lights on whenever in the room. Not at all what I’d imagined. The bathroom is tiny although the shower was very good. There isn’t even a toilet roll holder and nowhere to put the toilet paper except for on the cistern which isn’t at all convenient. The room looks cheaply decorated and quite honestly bodged. We spoke to a couple who moved into Room 1 which I presume was the same as ours and they moved out again promptly saying they weren’t happy with it. The next couple to move in also complained that they weren’t happy with it and had asked to be moved but to no avail. Our terrace was not what I expected - it’s quite a large area but dark and next to the plastic front door. We usually took our chairs and sat on the communal pathway from which the view was stunning. Breakfast was fine. The bar/eating area lovely. The staff are incredible, I have already mentioned Kathleen but also Nainan was exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble, they are always smiling and friendly as were the ladies who cleaned the rooms and did so daily and thoroughly. We had a wonderful holiday once I got over the disappointment of the room. I think the issue is that the website and photos on booking sites have given an unrealistic view of the hotel - the photos (and the price) lead you to believe that the property is finished to a high standard and is a lot sleeker than it actually is.

This accommodation is ok if you are very fit or have a car or be prepared to pay for a taxi up and down .7€ each way . Yes there are nice views but it’s at the top of a long road that is steep. This accommodation is ok if you are very fit or have a car or be prepared to pay for a taxi up and down .7€ each way . Yes there are nice views but it’s at the top of a long road that is steep. The pool area is nice but the rooms let it down. Where the breakfast is situated is not very big and if and when it’s gets busy you would be waiting a while. Would we stay again , probably not .
