We treated oursleves to suite 100 this time, which was incredible….full size infinity pool overlooking the sea, lots of different outdoor seating areas and great inside space. F zeen is such a beautifully landscaped, tranquil place but with the added benefit of an extensive range of fitness and relaxation classes. Think secret stone pathways, tumbling rosemary waterfalls, hibiscus, bougainvilla, different accommodation zones spread across the hillside, and several amazing outdoor fitness decks. We enjoyed daily inclusive Pilates with the lovely Evalina, and also took advantage of the free sea kayaks. There are a couple of things that let the place down, not enough to detract from the overall experience but worth a mention; the room service menu offering is quite limited ( we would have liked to order what was available in the restaurants to our lovely outdoor space for private dining but this was not possible) and the food generally is inconsistent.. We had some really lovely meals at Gaia, and a bad one at Selini and the Beach Bar, both of which we only frequented once. We would happily have never left the hotel had the food offerings been better. The breakfast offerings in contrast were amazing The other thing that needs improving is the admin; we were asked three times by three different deartments for our arrival details before travelling, and in situ the service generally from the reception team was poor ( it was amazing in all other areas). The new app didn’t work properly (couldn’t book the spa treatments for example) and loyalty card info non existent. (Had to ask several times for our loyalty discount to be applied to our final bill) Those niggles aside, our third visit will definitely not be our last. A shout out to some of the amazing staff….thank you Ylla and Athina who gave us such great service with a smile for teh second year running at breakfast every day, and the lovely Maria and Athenesia who gave such great service in Gaia. A magical place.

Lovely views from resort over the bay. Fabulous range of fitness classes. The two restaurants are good and there are also a selection of restaurants within walking distance.

F Zeen markets itself as a 5-star wellness hotel, but in five star fact it falls short in too many areas to truly deserve that rating. When we checked in, we were apparently “upgraded” without being told prior. We were even emailing before about airport pick up. The room felt worse than what we originally booked — less outdoor space, less seating, and far less privacy than the photos suggested. Even the room card on the bed still had another guest’s name on it, which instantly felt careless. We ended up paying extra to move rooms entirely. That room was lots better, but the soundproofing of the windows/door is poor. The mattress was also extremely hard and gave me backache every morning. Service was very inconsistent. Some staff were genuinely lovely and professional, while others spent time leaning around chatting, leaning, loud laughing with each other, on their phones, or ignoring guests unless management appeared. Pool service was especially slow — often waiting over 30 minutes just to order drinks while staff clearly saw us sitting there. Having to go over or try and get them to come over. Some workers are either clueless or unsure how 5 star service operates. That, or they simply don’t want to be the server placed below the customer. The hotel also has very little flexibility with food I’ve never had this. I’ve had restaurants make off menu items such as omelettes for dinner. I’ve had hotel restaurants go out and get several ingredients and cook food. I’ve been asked what I’d like and they have done it. I’ve had so many times places going above and beyond. Simple requests like swapping pork for halloumi or ordering an omelette at dinner were immediately refused. Vegetarian and vegan options were disappointing too, and some “vegan” items didn’t even seem to vegan. They don’t know about the diet. That said, the spa was excellent and easily the best part of the hotel. The gym was also very good, the sea views were beautiful, and several members of staff truly did provide great service. The manager and the other woman in charge of another area of the hotel we spoke with also listened carefully to feedback and didn’t dismiss our concerns. Overall, F Zeen has potential. It lacks the consistency, attention to detail, flexibility, and level of service I that should be expected from a true 5-star hotel. We did end up leaving a few nights sooner. Which the manager helped out with, and the hotel did not just just keep all the money. He did all he could to help out. I went in May. So I wouldn’t like to know how it is in busy season.
