We are here now, leaving today after 11 days. The hotel is lovely, the staff are lovely, the rooms are comfortable, cleaned everyday, and a comfortable bed. A fridge is also in the room and the air con is refreshingly cool after a hot day. The shower is also very good and one of the best we have experienced after travelling to many of the Greek islands. We had room 19 which is the sea view room ( you need to upgrade) absolutely the best view and stunning sunrises every morning. Also worth going up to the roof terrace around 6am to watch the sunrise, the views are well worth the alarm call. The pool area is quiet but we did witness some sunbed wars here, which the staff can do nothing about. Just some selfish people who think it’s justified to steal other sunbeds. There are not enough sunbeds for every guest as the area is too small. But hey, we hired a car from the airport ( a must, as the hotel is not walkable outside and very remote) We toured the island and loved it all. Do your research, a lot of beaches are not accessible easily. We loved Blue Paradise beach which is on the mainland. Around half hour drive but it’s a beautiful place to sunbathe. Beach bar there and only €20 for 2 beds and an umbrella. Nydri is 7 minutes drive and there is a parking facility which is only €5 for up to 5 hours. Taxis ( we didn’t use) are around €10 one way and people we spoke to said they struggled to get a taxi back to the hotel so again, well worth hiring a car. For us, what made our holiday was the staff. My lovely Val, the smiley Dimitri, and the girls who work the bar, and reception. Always working, in very hot conditions, always helpful, always smiling and will do the utmost to make your holiday memorable. Highly recommended for a week or even shorter, as we did the island in around 6/7 days and had 3 pool days. We also visited Meganisi, the island you can visit via the ferry in Nydri. A 20 minutes drive ferry ride for the day. Very cheap and you can take your car. Thank you all so much!

Left on Saturday and missing it already!. Such a lovely place and everyone at the hotel were so friendly and welcoming, nothing was an issue. Breakfast was great with enough of everything. Left on Saturday and missing it already!. Such a lovely place and everyone at the hotel were so friendly and welcoming, nothing was an issue. Breakfast was great with enough of everything. Rooms are very comfortable and cleaned every day with fresh towels.can not fault the place. Reasonably regular buses and taxis are €10 into Nidri. Thank you so much for an amazing time, we will definitely be back!!.

We are here now and its an absolutely amazing hotel the views are stunning and the staff are superb. The hotel has recently had a refurbishment and is lovely. our room is on the 3rd floor with side view and the view is something else 😍. The Breakfast is great with plenty of choice and they do snacks and meals from the bar during the day and evening. Around the pool is relatively quiet and we didn't have any problems getting a sun bed. there is also a large rooftop terrace where guests can relax and sunbathe. This is a small family run hotel so no hustle and bustle at anytime. We hired a car for the week from reception while we were here and we visited all around the stunning island the sights and views are breathtaking. A special shout out to Valeria the manageress Christina and Margarita they go out of there way to make your stay enjoyable.

The Aliki is a very good, well located hotel with spectacular views from the roof and some rooms, and super friendly and helpful staff. The area around is quite remote and somewhat away from any decent restaurants and shops, so a car is useful, but there are busses and price friendly taxis if you want to get around the island without one. If you are fit the walk into Nikiana is only about 30 minutes downhill (so harder coming back) but along a busy road with no footways. Our room was a full sea view on the top floor (we requested a specific room direct with hotel which they fulfilled) and had an excellent view, but bear in mind most of the rooms now have a very limited sea view due to the large trees growing to the side and in front of the site on land owned by the neighbour. The room was plain and simple but large, clean and well maintained. It had everything you need for a week away, with a new streaming TV (Netflix, Prime Video and YouTube but no live channels) a Nespresso machine, kettle, decent if somewhat noisy air conditioning, and a large and comfy bed with a choice of pillows. The bathroom is small but is well finished, with a new toilet and sink, although the sealant around the shower screen was mouldy. The bathroom window is the only ventilation, with no fan, and it lets in a lot of noise and various insects. Storage is at a premium though, and the safety deposit box is tiny and won't take an iPad, and is key operated, as is the main door. We spoke to a few people who had problems with overnight noise from the barking dogs next door, which we didn't hear in our room, but for us the traffic noise through the door and bathroom window was disturbing until late, and again early in the morning. The pool area was quiet most days, with lovely views and great sunbeds, although the pool itself was scarily deep on one end for a poor swimmer like me. The bar was open long hours with nice beer, cheap wine, and good value bar meals, and super helpful and friendly staff. We only tried the veggie pizza which was large and tasty, but a few people had less positive experiences with other option. Dimitri is a character and tries to make every day memorable, but does like an experimental cocktail. You have been warned! Breakfast is simple and does the job well enough, but is quite limited and repetitive. The hotel site is a bit steep so not perfect for the less mobile, particularly the car park which is really tricky with luggage, but there is a small lift covering all the floors. As I mentioned at the start the staff are all fantastic and can't do enough to help and support with anything you might need. It does really make a difference to the hotel. It's important to note however that Jet 2 sell this hotel as a 4 star facility and it's also listed on Google Maps as a 4 star hotel, whilst in reality it's actually officially only a 2 star. Judged against the official rating it's an excellent place to stay, and I can see why it gets such great reviews from guests, but it's not a 4 star facility, and I can't understand how Jet 2 can give it such a high rating even in Greece, where standards can be generally lower. We still had a good time at the Aliki, and in Lefkas overall, as there are some nice places to see and eat locally, but suggest you get a cheap flight out to Preveza, pick up a hire car, and book the Aliki direct through any number of booking websites to get a better deal. On that basis it would make a great cheap holiday, in a nice hotel that really cares about it's customers.
