Totally relaxing resort especially in early May. Spotlessly clean,friendly and helpful staff. Big shout out to CHRISTINA who was so accommodating Food a bit pricey but very good quality Sunbeds very comfortable and a really nice pool.

We have just returned from another fantastic 14 days at this beautiful resort. Our 10th consecutive year at Avithos and it continues to offer a quality service. The staff are the key, Christina runs the show from reception with a friendly smile and helpful advice at every opportunity. The cleaning team are excellent, our room was always spotless after their daily visit. Claudia was a brilliant host at breakfast with an excellent variety of food and drinks. The maintenance team work very hard to keep the beautiful grounds in excellent condition. As some have commented, bar prices are higher than can be found at some local tavernas, but we have no issue paying a little extra for the quality surroundings in which we drink a very cold beer or a cocktail. A recent review suggested the resort had a “identity crisis”, but this is nonsense. Avithos Resort has been satisfying a mix of couples and families for more than 20 years. Its formula works for most based on the number of repeat clients returning year after year. Christina and crew, keep doing what you are doing, we look forward to next years visit.

Good looking hotel, great location and excellent helpful staff but not for us unfortunately. Our room, 203, was OK but underwhelming and would benefit from some tweaks to make it more practical. Good looking hotel, great location and excellent helpful staff but not for us unfortunately. Our room, 203, was OK but underwhelming and would benefit from some tweaks to make it more practical. Housekeeping was amazing though, cleaned daily with fresh towels every 3 days, including pool towels. Pool was lovely but the wooden lounges with thin grey striped pads were uncomfortable. Avoid those and use the ones with the thicker cream pads. The pool bar is very expensive, €6 for an ice cream put us off buying anything else from there! Thankfully the supermarket is close and the studio room fridge has a freezer compartment so I’d say buy your own snacks and drinks and avoid the pool bar. The hotel lobby has lots of stylish seating but I rarely saw anyone using it unless waiting for their airport transfer. It would be an ideal spot for an evening cocktail bar (Thalassa has one similar and it’s a lovely way to end an evening after a meal out). As it is, it’s a bit of a dead space. That said, given the pool bar prices, heaven knows what they’d charge! Overall I think this hotel has a bit of an identity crisis and it’s unclear if it’s aiming for the adult or family market. We purposely went in term time but even with just the few young children there it didn’t really work. Some were loud, it’s what excited kids do, annoying but we didn’t book an adult only hotel this year so that’s our fault. One family had a young child but were constantly telling him to be quiet whenever he spoke because “people were relaxing”. Very considerate of them but that clearly wasn’t comfortable or relaxing for themselves. Boys need space to make noise, I know I had one! Maybe in summer it would be better for families but I’m not sure I’d recommend it for couples looking for a quiet getaway.
