We recently returned from a wonderful holiday at Grecotel Dama Dama in Rhodes, and we had an amazing time!A huge, special thanks goes to the animation team. They organized fantastic activities for the juniors and teenagers, who had an absolute blast and enjoyed themselves so much. We want to personally thank Michele, the activity manager, for his great leadership, and Dimitri for the energetic and fun Zumba sessions! In general, the entire staff at the hotel is incredibly helpful, polite, and always available.The facilities and services were excellent. The food was delicious with a good variety, and the pool area is absolutely stunning. We also thoroughly enjoyed the evening entertainment. The shows were beautiful and varied. Some nights we enjoyed great DJ sets and dancing at the beach bar, while other nights featured wonderful music shows at the theatre, preceded by a fun mini-disco for the younger children.If we have to make just one small note for improvement: we have a toddler and frequently needed to use the accessible/family bathroom located near the restaurant. Throughout our stay, the soap dispenser was broken, and there was no soap or bar of soap available. We requested it to be filled, but unfortunately, it was never fixed.Apart from this minor detail, it was an excellent holiday overall. We highly recommend this resort for families and would love to return!

Pleasant stay with a few problems at the start, Overall the holiday has been good, there is a few areas that need improvement, the main part of the hotel mainly were the family rooms is very dated this includes the rooms and corridors. The room itself was very disappointing compared to what you show on your website, the room it’s self is very tired and needs a lot of improvement. The WiFi in the rooms has been awful and needs massively improving. The first few nights in the hotel was disappointing due to the lack of staff at the bar area and this had an impact in getting a drink. The food along with the drinks has been really good and the selection of food was fantastic. The staff in all areas where brilliant they were all polite and very helpful. The hotel was very clean throughout.

Your hotel is promoted as a luxury, all-inclusive child-friendly resort and we had very high hopes and expectations based on the service and experience advertised across your website and social media platforms. There are several issues we would like to raise which significantly impacted our holiday and left us feeling that the experience fell far below what was promised and advertised. What made this even more disappointing was witnessing multiple PR and influencer visits taking place during our stay. We saw guests being shown around, photographed and given what appeared to be a very different level of service and attention. Since returning home, I have viewed the content these individuals have posted on Instagram and it is upsetting to see them promoting the exact luxury experience we believed we had booked but did not receive ourselves. Although I raised some of these concerns with the hotel during our third night and was assured that the relevant departments had been informed, nothing meaningfully changed during the remainder of our stay. As a result, we have returned home feeling completely let down. What was meant to be a special first holiday with our new baby and parents instead felt average at best and certainly nowhere near the luxury experience we paid for. Honestly, it has left us feeling somewhat “catfished” by the branding and marketing versus the reality we experienced. A list of the issues and areas where the hotel failed to meet expectations: As a party of four adults plus an 8-month-old baby, we had two rooms booked. The vegetarian buffet section was extremely limited. Always the same three options grilled tomatoes, grilled aubergine, ratatouille is not a meal There was no dedicated children’s buffet area or baby food available. It was only after our complaint, on the fourth day, that a small lunchtime buffet was introduced. At the a la carte restaurants, we were never offered, always had to ask for our baby. Pasta with tomato sauce was the only option most nights, everything else had been salted, mixed for the main dining options. The room interiors were below the standard we expected from a luxury resort. For example, the hinge attached to the back of the door in Room 736 appeared damaged/questionable. The fridge door was broken. The bed was a twin, our baby couldn't lie between us. The baby bouncer provided in the room was broken. Housekeeping did not consistently provide towels for the baby, we had to ask all week. The minibar in one room (we had two rooms as 4 adults) was empty upon arrival, including no bottled water being provided, reception said they'd stock the following day - poor considering it was 25degrees A bottle of wine was left in the room, lovely gesture, but only one wine glass was provided. The other room has wine glasses but no wine bottle. The hairdryer was broken on arrival, although this was fixed quickly after being reported. Housekeeping completely missed cleaning one of our rooms on day 6 of our stay. By the time we returned at 6pm, it felt too late to raise the issue, meaning we had no fresh towels or made bed, despite our second room along the corridor having been serviced. There was very limited glassware available at the main buffet restaurant. There was almost no glassware or reusable plastic cups available at the Greek/ beach bar. The amount of single use coffee cups for water & drinks was out of control. There were not enough high chairs available during busy breakfast times, despite the number of families staying at the resort. There appeared to be no non-motorised water sports available but it is apparently included. The banana boat cost 25 euro each, we thought it was included. Although the staff member working there was wonderful, she had very little equipment to work with and many toys appeared broken or heavily worn. Accessibility was challenging in certain areas, as ramps for pushchairs were not consistently available. We got stuck in the lift once and had to set alarm off. We regularly had to use older red sunbeds around the pool area, as the more premium/luxury loungers were consistently unavailable because there wasn't enough and the hotel apparently wasn't full. On our last day we were hoping to take a shower but there was no availability, we were advised to try the gym showers however at 5pm there was no water coming from the showers or water for the toilets. This was clearly an issue at the hotel, but unfortunately it only further reinforced what had already been a consistently substandard experience throughout our stay. The pools are lovely and the beach is very clean.

On arrival, which was gone midnight, the receptionist was not particularly welcoming but efficient. We were shown to our room, in the main building and were immediately disappointed as we were given twin beds! We had a quick look outside from the balcony and noticed the very ugly concrete roof. The room as a whole was ok, clean but very tired looking. My husband went back to reception to ask if there were any other rooms available, the receptionist told him to come back at 9am the following morning. After breakfast we spoke to a different receptionist, who was a bit frosty after we explained the situation and she said she would speak to the manager and something would be sorted out in a couple of days. We decided after some deliberation to stay in the room as we didn't want the hassle of unpacking and repacking. (They did put a mattress topper to make the bed into a king size, which was appreciated). We let the receptionist know our plans. We then noticed in our room that the view from the balcony, which was supposed to be a sea view, was completey obstructed by the concrete wall and metal bar when we sat down. The roof looked even worse in the daylight, along with a dirty sheet below our balcony. It was also at this time we noticed an ants nest! We didn't complain as we thought we would be thought of as a nuisance. After 2 days I came across a feedback form, I filled it in and mentioned our concerns. Within an hour my husband received a WhatsApp message from Katarina, the concierge supervisor who asked us to go and speak to her. We met with her, explained our concerns and she was extremely apologetic and wanted to make the rest of our stay as nice as possible. Katerina organised a Gazebo for us for 2 days, 2 a la carte meals and a 5pm check out. We were very grateful for her help and it made our stay a little more relaxing. We did mention all our issues, including some rude staff, slow service at the Lobby bar, and the buffet food was on the cold side. Some staff were excellent and couldn't be more helpful, but the blonde server at the Lobby bar was particularly slow and on one occasion couldn't even be bothered to ask us what we'd like to drink, we waited for a good 15 mins. We also suggested to Katarina that maybe the hotel could make the concrete roof look more attractive by adding some white gravel and some potted plants, for which she thought was a good idea. As a whole, the holiday was ok, but to be honest, unless things are updated/changed we would not go back.
