Me and my daughters have had a fantastic week at Mitsis Faliraki. The hotel is perfect in every way. It is big and beautiful with nice and large pools for both adults and children. They have a big and fun slide for both adults and children. The restaurants are very high quality. Fantastic and friendly staff who are very service-minded. Me and my daughters have travelled a lot and to put it mildly, this is the best hotel we have ever been to. The service is consistently high, the food in all the restaurants is delicious, the drinks are fantastic and fun, lovely outdoor areas, the best and most comfortable sun beds we have ever had. The rooms are nice and have big and good bed s. The beach the hotel owns has free sun beds. They also have a "late buffet" that lasts from 10:30 PM to 4:00 AM which is very good for those who arrive at the hotel late and are hungry after a long flight. The waiters in the main restaurant are very friendly and charming. They are always there for you, we especially mention Edouard and Savvas that is both very nice and sweet. The ladies there are also incredibly charming. All the staff make you feel so welcome. We will surely come back and take friends and family with us to this amazing experience.

When all’s said and done this is a good hotel, very good in many respects. However, on occasion it leaves you very frustrated. Take the restaurants for example: there several à la carte restaurants to choose from (which is clearly good) and the service is warm and welcoming; but as a party of 6 people, on FOUR separate occasions 5 people were served their food and then we had to wait 5+mins for the 6th person to be served. This is not acceptable in a 5* hotel. Also very limited vegan and non-dairy options (and seemingly little ability to adapt a dish to take dairy out of it). One two occasions it was an hour between arriving and being served our first course. In the buffet there were several occasions when it took a very long time for empty food trays to be replenished. You had the clear sense that they need to employ more people in a few departments, in particular chefs cooking the food. They are also unwilling (despite repeated requests) to leave a bottle of still water on your table (even for a group of 6) so you have to waste time and energy tracking down and bothering a busy server just to get a fresh glass of water – which makes no sense. Or take the bedrooms: the mattresses were super comfy and absolutely first class, but the room lacked both net curtains for the day-time and blackout curtains (or at least long enough curtains) for night-time; moreover the bathroom was really tiny and poorly designed such that when stepping out of the shower you had the sense of almost stepping into the toilet. Twice we had to run the gauntlet of very aggressive external photographers to get into the buffet restaurant. From speaking to Guest Relations this is an issue the hotel is very aware of but seems unable to stop for some inexplicable reason. The pool area was very pleasant with very comfy sunbeds (and surrounded by tiles that barely heat up in the hot sun, which was very welcome), and seemed to be kept very clean (although the outside toilets are not great due to water on the floor from dripping swimmers). Good water sports options (from a very friendly crew) are available down at the beach, and priced in line with market. The hotel has very nice outdoor and indoor bar areas (big thanks to the lovely Yulia from Ukraine working evenings in the main bar), both have a good selection of cocktails and other drinks, and there is decent live music most nights too. Staff are unfailing welcoming and polite, they are a real credit to the hotel and certainly enhance the guest experience. Rhodes Town is an easy 25 minute taxi journey up the coast, and definitely worth a visit. So, certainly a good hotel overall but with some proper attention to a few areas it has the potential to be very good. We are happy that we spent a week there enjoying the best aspects, but would be likely to look elsewhere if we ever return to Rhodes.
