Deffo going back! We loved every aspect of this hotel, had a beautiful experience, and will definitely go back to this little part of paradise. The genuine warmth from the wonderful staff at the Mitsis Rhodos Maris, where the care, wellbeing and happiness of their valued guests is the top priority, was refreshing. The food was always hot, plentiful and varied, with two live cooking stations serving things like lamb, sardine fillets (didn’t even know you could fillet a sardine!) and chicken. And self service for hot food such as mussels, prawns, lamb, chicken, veggie options, and chips. Salads galore, sundried tomatoes, pickles, bread, cold meats and cheeses. And puddings where chocolate tastes like chocolate, and of course baklava. We booked the à la carte Greek and Asian restaurants and they did not disappoint, the food was beautifully delivered, tasty, and fulfilling. The cocktails here are actually cocktails, not a load of spirits and some food colouring! They are strong, and plentiful, and the service here is exceptional, although with so many people and tables, there can be a small queue if you don’t want to wait for the incredibly hard working waitresses. They have started to enforce a reservation policy on the sun beds to stop people getting up at 5 to reserve a bed for when they get back from the beach. Long may it continue and I only wish more hotels followed suit. Yes the pool could always be bigger, and there could always be more sun beds and parasols. But the pool was beautifully maintained, cool and refreshing. And if you want a bed, 4 poster bed, or beanbag in the sun, then head to the beach, and the crystal clear waters. There are endless supplies of beanbags, and beds, supported by watersports, an Asian noodle shack, pizza shack, healthy options shack and two bars. Stunning. Aircon in the room was a gift from heaven, the rooms were tidy, clean, and the shower pressure superb. Evening entertainment super and don’t forget to get up and have fun, you only live once, and you’re on holiday! But it’s not like being in a night club, you can still chat without raising your voice and they will play to the audience. Didn’t do any of the shows but heard they were entertaining. We will go back to see these wonderful people with a special mention to King George running the restaurant, and the beautiful, wonderful, happy Georgina who we miss every morning. To Cristos the bellboy who started our holiday with a great impression, friendly, informative, and helpful. Elizabeth, haven’t got the faintest idea how she works so hard with a smile on her face. Another beautiful person who can’t do enough. Dimitris whose knowledge and advice in the à la carte restaurants was super helpful, and Angela on guest relations, all wonderful people and too many to mention x see you soon

Have just returned from this hotel. The staff there treat us second to none. Alex the entertainer was absolutely brilliant. Very nice, friendly and comical which is what is needed. The food was absolutely brilliant. The only restaurant that did not meet my need was the Greek one because the food was really salty and I have blood pressure problems. The bar staff were absolutely lovely and work so hard to accommodate everyone. I just want to call out Joanna who was absolutely amazing! Also the chef in the main restaurant cooked the food to perfection. One thing I need to raise is when given our spa treatment, which was lovely by the way, as a woman you should be able to be given the choice to have another woman massage you not a man. When this was raised, the Manager in the spa said she had never come across this situation before. The summer is now kicking in and with the weather being extremely hot they need to sort out the large grasshoppers/crickets because they can be a bit of a nuisance. Our room was tidied every day to a good standard and they ensured they filled our mini bar.

A long and honest review – we had a lovely time! Starting off with the pool and beach area. I have seen A LOT of reviews of people saying they are unable to get a sun lounger. There wasn’t any point during our stay when they were all occupied. The pool loungers went more quickly (still able to get them at 8/9am) but you were always able to find somewhere to sit at the beach. When we were there the new pool loungers were changed. To be honest, there was actually too many for the space in the end. There were multiple deliveries dropped off at the side of the pool for people to help themselves to. This meant they were then placed all over the place. Everywhere was so cramped and unorganised. We thought that night they would be arranged but they were not. There were activities in the morning and afternoon around the pool which were great fun! The entertainment team were great and really made the effort to get to know you. The location was good and located near everything. Was just the crampness that we didn’t like. The beach – the beach has sun loungers, bean bags and cabana beds. The bean bags are comfy to sit on but not suitable to tan on really. You can put two together to make it longer but that just occupies more of them, which isn’t ideal. The sun loungers were replaced when we left, so can’t comment on those. We used the cabana beds which were free and very comfy. We went down at around 8/9 to secure these and there were still plenty available. The sea was beautiful and crystal clear. A bit chilly but not too bad! The water sports were very well priced! We hired a motorboat for 80 euros for the hour. We would highly recommend this! Was amazing. There are food trucks on the beach offering noodles, pizza and fruit. All were great. Pizza and noodles were the best food at the resort I would say. The beach is currently being renovated which is not well advertised. We didn’t let it affect our holiday too much but everything behind the sun loungers is a mess. There is construction work everywhere. Diggers and trucks on the beach, the concrete walk way to access the beach is closed, there is only two toilets for the whole beach (one male, one female), its just a bit of a mess. Definitely not an award winning beach or 5*. Not what you are wanting for a beach front holiday really. There is no path to the toilets, which meant you have to walk on the hot stones to get there. Beach shoes are a must. Its not a sandy beach. Its very fine stones and then pebbles into the sea. Its honestly torture to walk in the sea without beach shoes. Overall it was very calm and peaceful, just not finished to high standard. The food and drink – food in the buffet was average. Breakfast was good, with made to order omelettes. Lunch and dinner was a very small selection compared to other all-inclusive ive been to. Still, I always found something to eat. Would be tricky for children though I would think. The crepes were amazing. Would definitely recommend those. Gyros were ok but not amazing. The a la carte restaurants were good. The Mexican was amazing, as was the Asian. The Greek ironically was not and isn’t worth visiting. We left and went to the buffet restaurant instead. Drinks – W O W! I cant say enough good thinks about the drinks. Absolutely sensational. Despina at the Gelateria bar was phenomenal. Always remembered your orders. Made cocktails that I would pay good money for at a bar back home. She was so friendly and amazing. Really made our trip special. Same with the lobby bar cocktails. 10/10! I think I would stick to Mitsis hotels going forward for the drinks alone! Accommodation – room was lovely, no complaints. Mini bar re stocked every other day, with bottles of water replaced daily. Amazing views. Balcony’s not private but again, didn’t affect our stay. Air con was ‘broken’ the first night and fixed (with quite a long wait late at night). Turns out the switch in the switch board was turned off, which happened a couple of times during our stay. So just switch it back on. We did have an incident where my partner had arranged for flowers, cake, balloons etc to be delivered to our room and they emailed me with all the details before the surprise. He complained and the hotel were very apologetic and arranged for breakfast in bed and a bottle of wine. However the next day, I was emailed a confirmation again. It’s not ideal as I wanted to be surprised and it was ruined. We were just lucky it wasn’t a proposal! The hotel itself was huge, like its own little village. I loved it being big, were never bored. Lots of walking and up and down steps. So much, we actually lost weight on this trip! Probably not ideal if you have mobility issues. Entertainment was great in the day and the evening. The whole entertainment team as previously mentioned, were great! Shows were good, as was the live music. Always something to do. Plenty of onsite shops. Again, the most affordable ive ever been to at an all-inclusive! Also shops outside the hotel. Overall we had a fab holiday! Yes some cosmetic and certain elements could be improved but it won’t impact your stay. We had a great time!:)
