LRdM was our first stop on Guadeloupe and did not disappoint at all. Lovely property in a quiet neighborhood (some road noise can be heard). Great bungalows (in two's) spread throughout, in lots of lush green surroundings. staff is amazing (Naomi at Front Desk and Ludovic on F&B especially). All the staff patiently and appreciatively accepted my attempts at speaking French, their English was much better than my French but, hey, when in Rome (or France) give it a go! The old Mill is a sight to behold, great view from the top and you can even book tours from Agnes when she is onsite (almost daily). You do need a car to get around but there is a location literally 5 mins walk. The rooms are well appointed, all with a roomy balcony, table and chairs. super beds, decent sized bathroom and a good shower. Aircon is well up to the job, small fridge for your beers, juices (nearest Smarket 10-15 min walk on the N4, or couple of mins by car)etc. 2 bottles of water upon arrival Breakfast/restaurant area is well laid out, clean and airy overlooking the pool/poolbar area. Choice/selection at breakfast is more than enough. The restaurant is very good (lobster ravioli delicious), good wine selection too! Pool area is decent enough (the beach is a 15 min walk), loungers limited, they can fill up quite quickly so come early if you plan a day at the pool. While your there enjoy the poolbar and lunch! They do a very nice tapas in the evenings too. As stated you need a car to get around, LRdM has a good-sized carpark onsite. LRdM is listed as Adult-Only, this is indeed so but children do appear as they are allowed during lunch and dinner. I understand the commercial side of things but it did raise an eyebrow as this is not communicated anywhere. Fortunately they were all well-behaved and were not (allowed?) in the poolarea. so, all in all a great stay and as there is still so much to see and do LRdM will be our return-to hotel.

“AMAZING!”

The hotel itself was absolutely amazing! Very clean and friendly staff! Our favorite waitress Tequin, who spoke English, was absolutely AMAZING!!!!! We definitely would stay again!! Thank you to all your staff who all were AMAZING!

This resort is a little remote so, if you plan to really tour the island, you should rent a car. The driving is relatively easy for a Caribbean island. We enjoyed our stay at the Relais de Moulin, with the food as a highlight—excellent quality (although a little pricey), and an excellent complementary breakfast. The staff was top quality on the whole, although English is not universal (it is, of course, a French island). Rooms are clean and pleasant, although a little more shelf space would be appreciated. The shower is good pressure and hot, but the lack of a soap/shampoo ledge was a little aggravating. And the half door fixed glass panel resulted in water leakage and some damage in the bathroom area (their problem, not mine). The pool area is lovely and the loungers are VERY comfortable. There is a bit of musical chairs if you don’t get there early enough in the day. This is a shame, because there is room for a few more loungers, which might resolve the problem. The resort claims to have tennis courts, which is a joke. The “courts” now serve as overflow in the parking area. Other reviewers have suggested a complementary bottle of water each day, which would be a nice touch. Overall a satisfactory and recommended destination, but the slight aggravations mentioned prevent me from rating as a 5.
