Our stay at La Barbera was one of those rare travel experiences that stays with you long after you’ve left. It’s truely spectacular… What made this place so special to our experience is its story. Rather than creating another impersonal luxury hotel, the owners transformed their family home into a beautiful bed and breakfast while preserving the warmth, authenticity, and soul of the place. That balance is incredibly difficult to achieve, yet La Barbera does it effortlessly. It feels luxurious without ever feeling detached from the people who make it so special. The views are simply breathtaking. In a region famous for spectacular scenery, La Barbera offers what must be one of the most beautiful panoramas on the Amalfi Coast. Whether you’re enjoying breakfast, relaxing on the terrace, or returning after a day of exploring, the view never loses its magic. The hospitality was exceptional. Roberto and Francesco are genuinely passionate about what they have created and are wonderfully present and involved. Their warmth and sincerity shine through in every interaction. Silvia and the rest of the team were equally outstanding, making us feel welcomed, cared for, and completely at home from the moment we arrived. The breakfast deserves special mention. It was, quite simply, one of the best breakfasts we have ever had while travelling. Fresh, abundant, thoughtfully prepared, and far superior to many lavish five-star hotel buffets we’ve experienced. Our room was charming, comfortable, immaculately maintained, and equipped with everything we needed. But the real highlight was the terrace. It felt like having our own private corner of Amalfi paradise—a peaceful retreat where we could unwind and take in the beauty of the coastline. Praiano itself is the perfect base for exploring the Amalfi Coast. It offers a welcome escape from the crowds while remaining ideally located for visiting Positano, Amalfi, Ravello, and beyond. After a hot summer day of sightseeing, returning to La Barbera genuinely felt like coming home. If you’re looking for authentic hospitality, unforgettable views, and a place that combines the comforts of luxury with the warmth of family, La Barbera is truly exceptional. We cannot recommend it highly enough.

Our stay at La Barbera was incredible! The rooms were ultra clean and beautiful, the views stunning and the breakfasts delicious. The thing that really stood this hotel apart from others that we have stayed at was the people, and the 5 star service. Francisco, Roberto, Silvia, Anna and Anna are such a warm, welcoming and professional team. Nothing is too much trouble for this fabulous fivesome- they made our holiday in Praiano the best! If you want great views, a clean and very comfortable hotel, fantastic breakfast, walking access to great restaurants, but more importantly to feel the warmth of a family and a very personal touch, this is the place. We would highly recommend this hotel for a luxury, relaxing and peaceful experience.

Our stay at La Barbera in Praiano was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, Silvia, Roberto, Francisco, and the entire staff made us feel genuinely welcome and cared for. Their attention to detail, kindness, and willingness to help with every request was remarkable. They were attentive, thoughtful, and almost overly considerate—if such a thing is even possible. The property itself is immaculate. Our room, as well as every area of the hotel, was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated with impeccable taste. We learned that the owners’ mother is an interior decorator, and it certainly shows in every detail. What truly sets La Barbera apart, however, is its location and breathtaking view. Perched high on the cliffs above Praiano, the hotel offers a perspective unlike anything we have ever experienced. From our terrace, we enjoyed a bird’s-eye view of much of the Amalfi Coast, including Positano, the beautiful church and charming village of Praiano below, the sparkling Mediterranean Sea, and the dramatic surrounding mountains. We were told that many consider La Barbera to have the most spectacular view on the Amalfi Coast, and after staying there, we completely understand why. Spending time on our private terrace was one of the highlights of our trip. Taking in the stunning scenery while surrounded by the scent of flowers, lemon trees, and the sea was simply magical. The jacuzzi was the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring the coast. Breakfast each morning was another delight, featuring homemade specialties, fresh ingredients, and delicious freshly squeezed juices that reflected the care and pride the family puts into every aspect of the guest experience. Courtenay and I travel frequently, and we can honestly say that La Barbera ranks among the finest places we have ever stayed. Between the extraordinary hospitality, immaculate accommodations, and what may very well be the most beautiful view on the Amalfi Coast, we give La Barbera our highest recommendation and an easy 10 out of 10.
