I have stayed here only overnight, but the hotel left a pleasant impression. It is very beautiful, with nice comfortable rooms and good view. There is a beach withing short walking distance - hotel is up on the hill, but there is a cable-railway as well as walkway leading to beach. Food is good and personnel is attentive, even if some either don't speak English or couldn't understand my accent. If I'll come to Italy again, this time for a beach vacation, I will try to stay in this hotel.

I stayed at Capo Est with my sister and nephew for a week commencing 23rd August 2007 and had a super time. The guests were mainly Italian (good sign) with a few Germans and Brits. We had a lovely room with three single beds, spacious bathroom with bidet (plus shower but no bath) and a balcony overlooking the sea, the only complaint being is that the room could have done with dusting. Note that the air conditioning does not work unless all the windows and doors are closed and the night porter speaks very little English. The hotel itself is located at Gabicce Monte just above Gabicce Mare. It was not easy to find the first time and the road from the hotel grounds entrance to the actual hotel is quite steep and winding, and the views are breathtakingly beautiful and suggest that car hire is a pre-requisite. The whole layout of the hotel grounds is magnificent and the pool area and Jacuzzi pool were fantastic. They had live entertainment a couple of nights by way of a singer. They have created their own separate mini beach type area with sun loungers, parasols etc overlooking the real beach and sea with excellent changing rooms and toilet facilities but please note that it is a concreted area covered with sand although there is also a lawned area further back also with loungers, so you get the best of both worlds really, back garden or beach scene. The actual beach is just down a further set of steps and across a small access road leading to a small harbour and beach called (baia vallugola - Valentino Rossi currently has his 46+4 Pershing yacht called Titilla moored there). You have to pay extra to use loungers on the small sandy beach by the sea and the only free area is pebbled (I recommend the use of appropriate beach shoes to avoid pain walking into the sea). There is a small bar nearby the beach that sells, drinks, ice-cream and small snacks, although the hotel have their own bar selling the same at very reasonable prices. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis so can’t comment on lunch and evening meals. Breakfast consisted of two or three different types of cake, (the plum one was nice, which was only available the once), mini packets of German Rye bread (two slices), crackers, yoghurt, cheese, salami, ham, croissants, bread rolls and jam. One lady was served half a fresh pineapple every morning, I guess she may have paid extra for this. Drinks consisted of bottled water, two fruit juices and waiters came and brought coffee. However, because we didn’t like their strong coffee they were only too happy to bring a pot of boiling water so we could dilute it according to taste. At first the waiters appeared a bit stiff upper lipped and I initially felt that we were not well treated because we were British and they thought we couldn’t speak the language but once I started to use my Italian, their attitude towards us improved. I found that tipping got you special treatment and one evening having ordered martini and offering the barman a drink he brought out a selection of snacks consisting of biscuits, peanuts and olives. It is quite an exclusive formal hotel, which does not cater for children like they do in Spain, Majorca etc and appears to be relatively quiet and relaxed. Nevertheless, the location of the hotel was fantastic (only 20 minutes from Rimini airport) if you have hired a car. There are several places of interest nearby such as Italian Miniature, theme parks Fabilandia (for younger children) and Mirabilandia (for everyone), Aquafan (waterpark). We visited Gradara Castle (famous for Paulo and Francesca) and nearby Pesaro had a fantastic daily festival going on between 24th August and 8th September, with live music and dancing every evening plus we even saw a mini Brazilian carnival walking through the streets as we were walking back to our car. All in all we had a great time and I would definitely return to this hotel.

Stayed in the hotel for four nights. My husband and I in a quiite nice double room and my friend in a awful and depressing single room. We were on a coach trip. Starting with the location: you need a car or bike to be able to go anywhere. Taxi is very expensive for short distances since they charge you from their starting point in Gabicci Mare. The 4 min drive to Gabbici Monte costed us € 15. No shop nearby to buy water , fruits or snacks. Three restaurants in the small marina down the hill. If you have problems walking and climbing stairs, you're stuck in the hotel unless the lift to the beach level is working, which it didn't during our stay. Not easy to access the sea so we stayed in the pool area - which was excellent! And kept immaculate by the service minded pool keeper, who also made sure safety level was high. Rooms: the double room was ok with good sized balcony and lovely view. The noisy air conditioning could not be used at night time. A pity since it was very hot. My friend's single room was so utterly depressing. No balcony. The view was a concrete wall and a car park. The bed was old and very, very uncomfortable. The mattress was replaced twice with no improvement at all. You could feel every spring. No sleep possible. The staff in reception was apart from the lady (the only female) either arrogant or rather useless since few spoke any English. We had dinner twice and the food was good, service prompt. I would say a bit abrupt. No cosy atmosphere at all.

At first I was very impressed with the hotel, specially with the location, first impressions and the personnel. As we stayed for 4 nights the cracks became canyons. Internet is not functional. Menus only in Italian. Dish choices limited. Most personnel can only speak Italian. The TV is an outdated small little black box. The beds are really just cheap steel beds. Air conditioning was not working and there was no intent or interest to fix it. The ONLY reason I give it 3 stars and not one is because many of the personnel went out of their way to help and one star will be unfair to their efforts.
