We stayed in Hotel Sporting twice for one night on a roadtrip to southern Italy. The stay was extremely comfortable due to the kindness of owners (the whole family) and young staff members. First time our double room was big enough for two and the camping bed for toddler that we asked in advance fitted perfectly leaving room for moving easily. The whole hotel was recently renovated in a modern style with lots of clear tone on walls and furniture (white is the predominant color) A/C works perfectly in the room. The second time we were upgraded to a full size apartment at the same price of the hotel room. Food: breakfast can be served in the garden if the whether is clear and jam pie are very good. Both lunch and dinner are served with a buffet of appetizer and sides, I remember a good "gateau di patate". Main course like pastas with fish sauce are really good, and "risotto ai frutti di mare" was something special. Second course are of average quality. We didn't had the change to try the small pool, but I will next time. I think that this is a very nice modern hotel, our choice for future stay in San Benedetto del Tronto.

“Clean, modern and friendly hotel 2 minutes from the beach.”

I stayed here overnight on a drive from Milan to Puglia and found it a very comfortable, clean modern style hotel. I stayed here overnight on a drive from Milan to Puglia and found it a very comfortable, clean modern style hotel. Good sized rooms with a big comfortable bed and a nice bathroom with a plentiful supply of towels, gels, shampoos etc. And a big bonus for English guests is the kettle in the room, which is quite unusual for Italian hotels. So it was great to be able to have a cuppa after a 7hour drive. :-) I also found it very quiet, despite there being a cinema directly opposite with a large car park. This might be noisier in high season when there are more people around but it's difficult to say. The front of house staff were really friendly and welcoming, giving me all the information immediately about breakfast, dinner etc and ready with answers to any other questions I had. However I found the restaurant staff a bit cold and distant and not very informative. When I arrived for dinner in the evening I noticed that there was a salad bar laid out but I didn't know that it was available for everyone. It was only when I had already ordered my meal that the man told me that I could help myself, with the result that my spaghetti with clams (very good) arrived at the same time as I was having my salad. So, this is worth bearing in mind if you eat in the hotel. The breakfast choice was abundant with a good selection of sweet and savoury food. The hotel doesn't look onto the sea as it's a couple of streets back from the seafront but a 2minute walk will bring you to the beach and an enormously long promenade for a stroll. And a bed and umbrella for the beach were included in the price I paid (obviously not used as it was out of season and all the lidos were closed.) The hotel also has a nice looking swimming pool just outside the main entrance and a small seating area if you just want to sit in the sun for a while away from the bustle of the beach in summer. Internal parking is available but there aren't a lot of spaces so in high season you might not find a place. But there is a quiet road next to the hotel where you can also park. Be aware that San Benedetto has a strange road system so your navigator will often tell you to make u-turns to arrive at the hotel. This isn't because you've made a mistake but simply because it has a strange one-way system. All in all, Hotel Sporting is a good quality hotel for an overnight stay or longer. I would probably use it again if I was in the area.
