Good points - proximity to beach, central location for visiting places like Monopoli etc, hotel cleanliness generally ok, food ok (nothing outstanding). Bed pillows good. Bad points - understaffed, lack of/poor communication by hotel staff eg not told on arrival we had to book restaurant table inside (at cost of 5 euro a day) so on day 1 we sat at someone else’s table, day 2 advised to sit in garden area outside & then given a table number, day 3 sitting at table advised & someone else was advised same table!, so then advised we were given wrong table number! Car parking entry/exit system broken so had to call help every time you wanted to enter/exit hotel. Many additional charges not advertised - car parking 25 euros, city tax 80 euros, restaurant table Inside 5 euros per day, beach towels rental fee AND deposit fee!!! The list was endless. For that reason alone I would not return. Flies also became a nuisance on day 3 - at the pool, bar area & in rooms. Sun loungers not very comfortable. Rooms are also a bit tired & could do with upgrading. Despite only staying early July there was NO late check out room option available - couldn’t keep our room on and when asked if another smaller room available also advised No and to shower at beach! When we looked these were communal beach showers next to the sand with small changing room (toilet size) on the beach so once you were showered you’d still be sandy afterwards !! Never in all my hotel stays has there never been an internal hotel room to use for 1 hr to shower before departing. Very poor indeed and I fail to believe the hotel was completely full so early in July. Such a shame Granserena as you could make this hotel much more than it is. However comparing service with other hotels in/out of Italy means you need to up your game to compete. Other Italian/european hotels I’ve stayed in don’t have all these additional fees/have better facilities eg Calabria, Sorrento for lesser room cost. Disappointing. Would not return.

Nice clean hotel in lovely gardens, nice rooms , although non sea-view is awful. Private beach area which is lovely and some really nice Staff, particularly Antonio at the indoor bar, Elisa at the pool bar, and Enzo, the Olive oil man, who has worked there for many years. He was such a sweetheart to talk to, with the help of Google translate. What a lovely man. Arrived towards end Sept on a girls break but very disappointed with the lack of food, snacks, ice creams etc. This was sold as an all inclusive holiday (which is being taken up with the Tour Operator). We were told on arrival, that only, beer, wine & prosecco was included during the day & other spirits etc only after 7pm. There were no snacks, & no ice creams, and we were told they were soon to close ! Breakfast is awful. Nothing cooked in the morning, only ever saw a few frankfurters and some hard boiled eggs. No fresh egg station or omelettes being cooked. Had to ask for butter constantly ! The entertainment is not good at all. They have a lovely room for Ballroom dancing but it is so bright, it hurts your eyes, and it had no ambience at all. There's not much else nearby, in walking distance either. However, if all the facilities, food and entertainment were as they should be, it's a nice place to be. Mainly Italians, majority of whom were elderly, walking around in Bath robes. Having said that, the day we left 30th Sept, many of the elderly had left and there was a lot of new younger age groups there. Goodness knows how that will work out, food and entertainment wise !!
