Visited this hotel, in May 2026 for 3 nights on route to tour Sicily. The hotel is very modern and well equipped. We enjoyed our stay although it was located a bit further down the seafront from the old town than we had envisaged. One of the reasons for booking the hotel was it has its own section of beach located across the road, but on arrival we were disapointed to be told that the hotels beach section was unavailable until the very end of May, early June. We felt this really should be better communicated. Another shock was the lack of tea and coffee facilities in the room, which for a 5 star hotel is poor. One of the highlights of our stay was having breakfast in the roof top restaurant with panoramic views of Cefalu which was stunning. All in all a really nice stay but probably not 5 star.

Nice food selection (except for bread, which was very poor) - big, comfortable rooms and bathroom - on site bar, pool, fitness Center, spa (but did not use, so can not judge) - just in front of the sea (but check things to improve) 🙄 - there is a ridiculous policy that you can not bring drinks or food from the outside. This is the first time in my life I encounter this policy and I find it very disappointing and unfair. The reception even monitors people as they get into the hotel for this. - our room had a very partial view of the sea, not really worth to seat on the balcony which we were looking forward to - there is private parking, but it is very small! I can not imagine the fights to get in and out during high season - I guess during summer season is different, but middle may there was no beach seating provided by the hotel (not terrible, but good to know)

We stayed at the Cefalù Sea Palace for 7 days at the start of May 2026. Overall, there were plenty of positives, but also a few negatives that may impact other guests as they did us. Firstly, we could not fault the staff. The cleaners, reception team and bar staff were all extremely polite, friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Our room was spacious, very clean, and although some of the décor is a little dated, it still felt lovely and well maintained. However, there are a few things worth being aware of before booking. There are no tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms, and guests are not allowed to bring food or drinks — including snacks — into their rooms. The minibar is stocked with drinks and snacks, but prices are quite high. Interestingly, on day 5 a member of reception told us that kettles are available on request, which would have been useful to know earlier. There is also an ironing room, but it is extremely small and doubles as a staff office/storage area for housekeeping. The cleaning staff were very polite and did their best to minimise disruption while we were using it. We were informed before travelling that the private beach would be closed, but we were not aware that the whirlpool/spa pool was also unavailable during our stay. Drinks at the hotel bar are expensive — for example, an Aperol Spritz was €16 and a hot chocolate €9. There is a local supermarket nearby, and in other hotels we’ve stayed in we’ve enjoyed buying a bottle of wine to have on the balcony, but this is not permitted here. One final point which may just come down to personal preference: we both found the sunbeds very uncomfortable. They are extremely low, rigid in shape, and cannot be adjusted. Overall, the hotel has many positives, particularly the staff and cleanliness, but some of the restrictions and closures did affect our experience.

pros!! Location is Very good 👍 Cleanliness very clean 👍 Staff very friendly and helpful. We were b&b only, breakfast was ok for me, but many others didn't like selection. Room very comfortable and good views . Cons!! We were in room 328 below Restaurant it gets very noisy from 5 am onwards with staff dragging furniture about while setting up breakfast. The same in the night until midnight making it very hard to get a decent sleep. No kettle in room and the fridge in the room is not for personal use. You only use what the hotel supplies at very inflated prices. There is a warning sheet in the room that you may not purchase food and bring it to the room. We were warned by staff when they saw me with bag from supermarket, that the manager is watching on CCTV camera. I had bottles of water and snacks to eat on balcony, also to take medication. We were shocked on our first night in cefalu sea palace. We arrived late evening at 9.45 and went to the basement bar. My wife and I had a ham sandwich each and a cup of coffee and glass of lager, total £37.80 euro. These extortionate prices make people go elsewhere for the evening. We would have spent more time in the bar if prices were appropriate with other neighbours. Otherwise the hotel was wonderful 👍
