We travelled with Jet2 and had a lovely holiday. Our local rep, Riccardo, was brilliant – friendly, knowledgeable and always happy to help. The hotel is very nice with some excellent staff who were very helpful especially Dario. The hotel can arrange some good excursions. The pool areas are great and we never had any trouble getting a sun bed but it was definitely getting busier throughout our stay. Breakfast was excellent, with a huge choice and freshly cooked eggs, and the lunches we had at the hotel were good quality and reasonably priced. We didn’t eat there in the evenings, so can’t comment on dinner. Our room was good and cleaned every day with plenty of fresh towels and the hotel grounds were beautifully maintained. We also used the hotel’s beach sunbeds (for an extra charge), which was a nice option. Our only reservation was the location. Marina di Ragusa is a busy seaside resort with sandy beaches and a lively atmosphere, during the summer it gets extremely busy, especially at weekends. It’s clearly a popular holiday destination for Italian families. The marina, with some nice restaurants, is about a 10–15 minute walk away along the seafront. We also hired a car, which we would definitely recommend, as it gave us the chance to explore quieter beaches as well as visit beautiful places like Syracuse and Mount Etna, both of which were highlights of our trip but are a considerable distance away. Overall, this is a good hotel with helpful staff and good facilities. If you’re just looking for a relaxing hotel with a lovely pool and beach nearby, it’s an excellent choice. If you’re after a a more traditional Sicilian town, this area may not be quite what you’re looking for, but it’s still a good base for exploring the region.

Lovely , clean hotel with friendly staff . If you’re travelling with children expecting kids clubs and entertainment , then this isn’t for you . If you fancy an Indian meal , chinese or a wee British style bar and Sunday lunch , it’s definitely not for you . Marina fi Ragusa is a traditional Sicilian town with a few restaurants selling similar Italian fayre . We stayed B&B and Half Board ( half board because the supplement was too good to refuse ) The food was really nice, can’t complain and the sweets, pastries and puddings are fab . Over 14 days , probably a bit repetitive though. If you fancy a nice relaxed break , with lovely pools and beach , it’s a great choice . If you like the odd sports bar , or prefer some round the world food choices when on your break , you might want to look elsewhere .

The Aacia Palace is located faily close to the beach and a short walking distance to the main centre of Marina Di Ragusa. The room we stayed in was large , with a balcony, and on wehich we had a jacuzzi. Air conditioning was in the room, making it all very comfortable and with a sea view. Along the sea front are numerous restaurants and also in the main square. The hotel has one main restaurant, serving buffet and a la carte. There are 2 main swimming pools, and well maintained, and with plenty of sunbeds. We were disappointed that there was not a drinks service for when around the pool, or at least we were not aware of one. The r esort is quite a long way from any of the main attractions of Sicily (2.5 hours drive to Mount Etna), so if going to the area it has to be to relax.

Spent 2 weeks in June as part of a Jet2 package from Edinburgh. The 2 hour mini bus transfer wasn't very pleasant, and vehicle had dubious suspension - but we made it! Hotel was exactly as depicted, extremely clean and comfortable. We stayed bed and breakfast which was of a good standard, and all staff from restaurant to reception and cleaning were extremely helpful. We were situated near the adults only pool at the hotel, but thankfully we could also use the pool a short stroll away at the Acacia Marina. At no time could we get a lounger at our hotel due to the age old habit of reserving sun beds and disappearing for a couple of hours! Strangely there is a sign up saying sunbeds shouldn't have unattended belongings on them for more than half an hour (admittedly not long), but nobody adheres to it. So glad we could squeeze in the odd couple of hours, to read a bit and enjoy a swim at the other pool - could be an issue high season though. Marina di Ragusa is a popular beach destination for locals, and it does get very busy at the weekends. There are a few restaurants and cafes in the main piazza, and newer places by the marina. The resort looked a bit neglected, and you do need to watch your feet as there are plenty of dogs, and cleaning up after them is not a thing! Although we were happy with the hotel, it was a bit surprising that the cover charge both for lunch or just a drink at the bar was 2.50 euro per head. An extra 5 euro is a bit steep added to your end of evening nigh cap. On balance it was a good base for touring that part of Sicily, we used the bus a couple of times as the tours were very expensive and we hadn't planned to hire a car. I think for a chill holiday 1 week is probably enough.
