The apartment is very spacious. I stayed on the top floor apartment, which I recommend if you do not have small children. The terrace is large, with table and chairs, a gas hob so that you can cook up there and a washing machine. The apartment has two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with two single beds. There is a downstairs bathroom with shower, and a small shower room with a toilet and basin upstairs. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge freezer, ceramic hob and portable/small oven. There is no kettle, toaster and I advise you to bring a coffee maker too. They only have a small Italian coffee maker that can only make one small cup of coffee. The accommodation is basic, but it is comfortable. Wi-Fi is not great but it works most of the time. Tip: the Wi-Fi in the café and the bar is better than in the apartment. Kamena residence has a very good café above reception. We had our coffee there nearly every morning. The coffee and pastries are delicious, the price is reasonable and the service is good. There is also a pool bar, which serves a range of snacks, drinks and meals, at reasonable prices. We had some take away pizzas in the evenings and they were very good. The infinite pool is very nice indeed. The water is clean, warm and the pool is of a good size. There is also a lifeguard on duty. As per other reviews, it is true that they rent the pool to locals and sometimes it gets very busy. However, I have managed to avoid the crowds by going to the pool in the mornings. I have always managed to get lounge beds but I would says that they need to invest in getting more sun umbrellas, as there were not enough to go around. Carmelo, at reception, was very helpful and efficient. He helped me with airport transfer and answered all of mine queries! There were quite a few! Thank you, Carmelo for your help. The great thing about the place is that it is within walking distance to the town and the lovely beach. The town has various very good restaurants (my favourite one was QB13, which is only down the road from the residence). The beach is lovely. Sandy beach, calm, shallow and warm seawater and very good facilities on the beach. If you do not want just to spend your days on the beach and pool and intend to do some sightseeing, then I recommend you hire a car. There are lots of very interesting places to visit in Sicily, and public transport from Marina di Ragusa is not very frequent, and they do not go to many places. I recommend you hire a car from rentalcars.com, as the insurance would be cheaper than the local car hire, and, believe me, you need insurance, just in case, as Italian drivers are crazy! They are on the mobile all the time, they do not signal and they are very impatient. I think it does not help that the roads are not good. They mainly have single lanes, which means that when there is a slow car in front of you (there is always one), Italians are very irresponsible when taking over. They may take over half dozen cars at the same time and they just miss the car that is coming down the other lane! However, saying that, I was just careful and I did not have any problems. The reason I gave four stars was because the property is a bit tired. The apartment needs decorating, and the place, particularly between the apartments, needs more attention, as it is covered with dust and bird droppings. However, I had an enjoyable time spending my summer holidays there.

“Beautiful stay with close to city center”

Really love how this place looks. Pool was beautiful and the place was so relaxing. Had a cute little cafe type place out near the pool. The center that's always bustling is also close so you can choose to be as isolated or as involved in the area as you want

We (a family of four, kids aged 10 and 11) stayed 11 nights at Kamena. We booked early and were promised a roof top apartment but somehow this reservation was lost due to changes in the booking and we at first shown to a ground floor apt, but the host, Carmelo, quickly reshuffled and managed to get us the roof top apt that we wanted. From the very spacious roof terrace there is a great view of the sea, and we had literally every meal up there. It is also equipped with a washing machine, ours had some problems but within a couple of days a brand new machine was installed. The interior part of the first floor apartments are identical to the ground floor apartments, having a large kitchen/TV room, two bedrooms and a bathroom. The TV has access to all thinkable channels, which we used to watch Wimbledon or cycling in the hot hours between 12 and 3. All facilities for cooking are available, and although the kitchen and the interior in general is a little worn, it all works. And with access to the roof top, this feels like a penthouse flat. There is a rather large pool for the kids which opens at 9 am until 8 pm, and our kids loved it there. The rules are a little strict, no jumping or playing ball, but it is nice break from the sandy beaches. The size matches the number of guests, so never impossible to get a sunbed. The city itself, Marina de Ragusa, is not particularly interesting, but is a perfect starting point for tours in the region, including the many phenomenal beaches of which we only tried a few, such as Sampieri and Punta Bracetto. Cava D'aligi looked gorgeous while driving by. And it has all the required facilities, the Eurospar supermarket is close by and open all day, Mon-Sun. All in all, nearly a perfect spot for a beach summer vacation in Sicily.
