We stayed here 3 nights on our 2 week tour of Sicily. This is a lovely beach town that is quiet in October, We had the beach to ourselves, and there are plenty of good restaurants around. Its a nice jumping off point for visiting the area, with pleasant drives to Ragusa Ibla, Modica, Noto. The hotel is clean and comfortable. Its very safe with gated parking around it. There's a very nice pool, though a bit chilly in October. The sea was warmer! The staff is delightful and very eager to help. Breakfast with cappucino every morning was great.

This hotel grows on you. First impressions were fine: large room, decent sized balcony, nice pool area but what really sets it apart is the personal service from friendly staff. They have clearly taken on board some earlier occasional criticism to make improvements, meanwhile it is located next to beautiful beaches and pleasant cafes at the quieter end of town. Breakfast: Good coffee made to order. Fruit, yoghurt, cereal, croissants, small selection of hot choices but the star was Sicilian juices and home made Sicilian cakes. Eating: The best meals we had during our stay in Marina di Ragusa were at the two closest restaurants to this hotel. There is a choice of restaurants right on the beach, or a couple slightly further back where all the locals seem to go (always a good sign) and where there is a discount for Hotel Andrea Doria guests. Location: This hotel is about 15 mins walk from the centre of town. I imagine this really pays off in peak season because the beaches are quieter and there is less noise, although there is some low level traffic noise which would only be noticeable if, like us, you come from a very quiet neighbourhood back home. There are scooters for hire if you like that sort of thing. Service: All the staff were lovely and the manager, Ivan, was there every morning to check all the guests are happy. He also kindly dropped us off at the bus station at the end of our stay. WiFi: Seems to be good. Our room was in bit of a black spot but this was fixed within minutes of mentioning it, via the addition of a booster router, which made our teenager very happy. Pool: The pool area was very quiet during our stay (October) with plenty of sun beds available. It is surrounded by pretty shrubs and faux grass which worked well as it was non slip. Good beach towels are provided on request. Bring mozzy spray. Overall this hotel is not glitzy and glamorous, but the rooms are clean and tasteful, the local beaches and cafes are wonderful and I’d take their personalised, friendly service over a bland luxury chain any day. Great value for money.

We had a very nice stay at the Andria Doria. It's across the road from the beach and a pleasant 10 minute walk into the centre of town. There's secure free parking at the back of the hotel. The hotel building and the decor is somewhat dated but it was comfortable and clean. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, especially Ivan who made sure he spoke with all the guests at breakfast every day and made sure everything was OK. Breakfast was very good. The hotel doesn't have a beach but there's a public beach close by (no shade so you'll need an umbrella) and they have an arrangement with the Beach Club across the road where hotel guests get a small discount. The hotel had a nice pool with sufficient sun beds. However when we were there they were re-building the outdoor bar which had been destroyed in the hurricane earlier in the year, so you had to order drinks from reception. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant but there's lots of good places to eat close by and in town and Marina di Ragusa is very convenient for visiting the many wonderful Sicilian towns in the area.
