The superior cottages have recently been refurbished. All is clean and quite spacious. The animation is professional and staff is really enthusiastic and friendly. There are a lot of opportunities for sports: great gym, crossbow, football, tennis, private swimming lessons, catamaran sailing, beach volleyball and much more. The restaurant at the beam is very relaxing, especially for the evening. It was never completely booked during our stay. The main restaurant is messy and large, but when coming at the right times it is acceptable. Food quality is very good. I do not recommend the igV Platinum Club card for 300 Euros per room - the only real benefit is the reserved table in the restaurant and the first row on the beach. Both are not needed: it is much better to find a quiet table on the spot and the umbrellas at the beach are nicely separated anyway, all with good vie onto the sea. The beach is fantastic - almost 10 km wide sand beach available for jogging, relaxing, playing in the sand. There is no disturbing traffic from left and right of the hotel. Only drawback: you need to cross street via a bridge and stairs to get to the beach (it is less than 5 minutes walk from the rooms). The beach is well equipped with bar, shower, toilet. There is a possibility to cross the road, avoiding the stairs for people with strollers and small children. The only drawback: depending on who is in charge of the audio systems, the animation both at the beach, at the pool and in the evening can be unbearable loud. Especially I'd warn parents of smaller children to let them getting too close to the stage or DJ booth at the beach... it really hurts in the ears. A word to the manager of the club usually helps. The pool is great if you like it not too shallow (starts with 1.4 m and goes to 2.05 metres). I understand that for smaller children this is unsuitable, but there is a very large "baby pool" available, too. Rental cars are available directly on site. Getting them via an external provider is half price, but might not be available (we paid 40 Euros per day for a Nissan micra. A comaprable small car is 70 Euros on site. However we were on one day 7 people and got a very nice, spacious Fiat for 130 Euros per day). There are a number of shops (swimear, cloths, newspapers, electronic items if you forgot them, pharmacy) on site who have everything you might need. Noteworthy: there is a doctor and pediatrician (!!!) every day available on-site for free. This is very useful, our son got a skin irritation due to the sun and the doctor helped on the same day. Another drawback: the coffee in the morning is awful (brownish liquid), not what one would expect from a Italian village. However, one has to understand that the club is large and it might be difficult to serve great capuccino for everyone at the same time in the morning (although I have been in similar places, who managed). The coffee at the bar is of course great, but needs to be paid. I didn't like the tap wine (both red and white are slightly sparkling), but this is a matter of taste of course and it might be perfectly appreciated by other guests. The air condition in our room was not working flawlessly, but it has been reasonably fixed during our stay. This is a typical problem in club villages that I visited in Italy. It is necessary to check it on day 1 and report the issue before it gets too hot... Southern Sicility it typically a rather windy place - the beach goes smoothly into the sea, so it is easy and fun also for children and elderly people to go into the water without swimming. However, once the wind raises in the afternoon (there are a lot of surfers and wakeboard fans around, so this is a sign that there is often wind) it becomes almost impossible to stay at the beach, since the sand goes everywhere. Then it's time to move to the pool. As soon as you are behind the sand dunes (awesome to look at and nice for a walk, too), there is no wind anymore. There are plenty of trees on site so that you'll always find a spot in the shadow to relax a bit or read. Wifi is ok, although the setup is a bit weird: rather than a single network you'll find a large number of networks installed and you need to re-authenticate each time to switch cell. I can recommend this club for Italian-speaking audience. I saw only very few people from abroad and clearly all communication is best done in Italian there. Officially this club compares to a 3-star hotel (it is indicated at the reception).

They say there is in all the common areas but in the second room of the main restaurant there isn't any reception at all. - A very small TV compared to the size of the room and the distant to your pillow. They have staff taking pictures of all the guest which is nice but the price is too high. 120E for 8-12 digital and six printed photos. - Ants in the room. - Common WC near the restaurant couldn't be locked. You coudl close the door but not lock it. - No air conditioner at the reception area. - Gardening starts already at 09:00. - Possibility to pay extra to become a premium plus member which gives you the possibility to have the same table the whole week and beach seats in front of the ocean (front seats). - High volume of all the guests at the restaurant and sometimes crowded. - A lot of pigeon poop on the area. - The channels for the television didn't work in our room and the room next to us. - Got a key to the room that didn't at all go to our room. If you want to go to bed early or don't want to be disturbed by noise, choose a room far from the amphiteather where they have shows every evening. Concerning the "Hotel rating" and "Location" in this review, it's thinking of the vicinity of the beach and not to other things. You need a mean of transportation if you want to get somewhere.
