I highly recommend this place, it is very clean, has a very good standard, and is very well situated, near the Ortigia island, bus stops and the train station. It is therfore a great starting point for visiting other places in Sicily. The host was very friendly and helpful. Everyday we would get bus/train schedules and maps of places we wanted to visit. It is the perfect place for foreign tourists, as the host was fluent in English and offered a lot of support, and made our stay very pleasant by making us feel at home 🥰

“Great choice”

I chose this place based on guest reviews, its location and my budget. As I was doing day trips as well as visiting the archeological park and catacombs – both which are in the opposite direction of the old town – I felt the B&B’s location was a good central location to everything. What was a pleasant surprise was that the main road (Corso Gelotone), which the B&B is situated off of, has 2 stops for inter-city buses. This meant that when I arrived into and left Siracusa, I was able to use one of the stops on Corso Gelotone, rather than having to go to the train station (where the bus station is). What was also nice was that the B&B owner, Gaetono, takes great care in looking after his guests – more than what I’ve experienced with B&Bs. He was contactable regularly on WhatsApp, and when I hadn’t arrived 15-20 minutes after the scheduled time, he called me directly on my UK mobile number to find out where I was. He also met me at the bus stop within less than 5 minutes and took care of my suitcase all the way to the B&B (there is also a lift within the building). Additionally he was like a mini Tourist Information office, identifying the best way to get to other towns and offering lots of advice on places to visit/eat. He resides in the B&B with his mom, and was very accessible from first thing in the morning to late at night. Moreover, he insisted on catering to my fussy dietary requirements for breakfast (which he did an excellent job of) and gave me unrestricted access to the kitchen and living/dining room outside breakfast hours. My room also met my high standards of cleanliness. It was very nice to walk into the room upon arrival and smell a laundry scent. I immediately knew that ALL the coverings on the bed had been washed (which I’m not sure is always done at other places). It also helped that the B&B is only 1 year old, so everything was in excellent condition. There was also an air condition and heater unit within the room, as well as an excellent wifi connection. The only disadvantages were the thin walls (although I was fortunate that there was only 1 other guest during my time who was very quiet), renovation works at 8am in the morning on the floor below me, and the smell of food from the kitchen making its way into my room in the morning. Overall, I was very impressed with this place and happy that I stayed here. It was the best B&B that I stayed at during my trip around southern Italy.

We were in Siracusa for one night by car, so we didn't want to be in Ortigia itself. We were in Siracusa for one night by car, so we didn't want to be in Ortigia itself. The parking can be done around the building, some places are free of charge but we paid a little bit (around 5 euro for a day). The room is nice and clean and you can walk to Ortigia and the archaeological park. The owner is very friendly and helpful, nice breakfast too. I recommend this place!

“New, smart and well priced”

Very clean, and friendly, helpful proprietors who didn't seem to mind that we hadn't booked in advance. Breakfast was good with sweet pastries, savoury breads and cold meat amongst other things. Easy walk to archaeological park and museum.
