Our stay at the National Gallery of Taormina B&B was a real highlight of our trip. The host and owner, Andrea, is incredibly kind, welcoming, and full of positive energy. From the start, he made us feel at home and provided us with great recommendations for places to visit in Taormina and the surrounding area. The room was spacious, very clean, and modern, located in a newly built structure. The bathroom had a luxurious design, and overall the space was both stylish and comfortable. The bed was very cozy, ensuring a great night’s sleep, and we especially appreciated the peaceful atmosphere. Our room had a direct sea view from the window, which made waking up in the morning even more special. Breakfast was thoughtfully prepared and waiting in the room’s refrigerator each day — a generous selection of cheese, ham, yogurt, fresh bread, pastries or cake from a local bakery, cornflakes, jam, milk, fruit, and even a Nespresso machine for fresh coffee. You can enjoy breakfast in the room or step out onto a small terrace with a few tables and a lovely view of the sea and the city. The B&B has a charming and quirky identity — you might wonder about the “gallery” in the name, and it’s likely because our room was decorated with copies of famous artworks, such as the Mona Lisa or Botero’s Dancing in Colombia, adding a cultural and playful touch to the atmosphere. The location is very convenient — about a 12 minute walk to the city center. If needed, Andrea even offers to pick you up with his tuk-tuk, which adds a fun, personal touch to the experience. Parking can be tricky since the property is on a hillside, but Andrea takes care of everything, either helping you park on the nearby street or in the small space right in front of the house. Whatever the case, you can trust him to handle it with great care. Taormina itself is a lively and charming city, especially in the evenings, with a long main street full of shops, bars, restaurants, and gelaterias. The ancient theater is a must-see, offering stunning views of Etna on clear days, as well as sweeping views over the coast and the valley. Entry to the theater was €14, and sometimes there are concerts held there, making it even more special. As for the beach, be aware that it’s very crowded, especially in summer. Most of the space is taken up by private lidos with umbrellas, and only small sections at either end are free public areas. So, don’t expect much space or a quiet, private beach atmosphere. You can walk down to the beach or take the cable car — we went down by foot and took the cable car back up for €6 per person. It’s a convenient option, especially after a long day. Overall, National Gallery of Taormina B&B combines comfort, personality, and heartfelt hospitality — highly recommended for anyone visiting this beautiful part of Sicily.
