Isola Verde was a lovely hotel in the best area of Elba Island! there is a very good restaurant and a very good pool. The rooms are comfortable but little dated so the AC might not work great and the beds are a little hard. The Staff, especially Paula were all so lovely and attentive. We were celebrating our 40th anniversary and this was our first time time on Elba- WE LOVED THE ISLAND and the hotel location . WE would return with our family and hopefully get a larger room with more updated beds and AC.

“Lovely Hotel”

Very nice hotel, with a central reception building and separate blocks of rooms. We had a room in block C. The blocks have 3 levels we were on the top level with a balcony that had views to the sea and surrounding country side. There are no lifts so had to carry cases up the stairs. Nice size rooms… more

Very nice hotel, with a central reception building and separate blocks of rooms. We had a room in block C. The blocks have 3 levels we were on the top level with a balcony that had views to the sea and surrounding country side. There are no lifts so had to carry cases up the stairs. Nice size rooms with a small kitchen area, we only used the fridge to store drinks in. The room had a bit of a stale smell and I think the room had just been opened up for the new season. There was a small drain in the bathroom floor with a slotted cover, kept a towel over it, think the smell came from it. Did not report it as could not be fussed with the language issues. Shower was fine. The lady on reception was really nice and helpful. There is a separate dining room for the evenings, we only used it once during our 5 night stay and it was fine, the meal was included in our package as was breakfasts which were very basic even for a continental breakfast. On 3 mornings the only cereal was cornflakes. The toaster was useless and there was only one coffee machine so there was often a queue. Pool was lovely and clean, water temperature was ok for me, maybe a bit cool for some, nice to cool off in after a day walking. Bed was comfortable. All in all would go back again only real let down was the poor breakfast.

We stayed for a week, intending to use the hotel as a base for exploring Elba. However, we ended up staying on the west side of the island, and also spending time around the pool area, which was great. The free borrowing of good bikes was a bonus, as was the very nice balcony and view that came with our room/apartment. The apartment was rather small, ok equipped: you can cook pasta but not make any advanced cooking. We did not try the hotel restaurant except for breakfast one day (we found the breakfast was not worth the price). The neighbour pizzeria/restaurant was good (il fosso)! The hotel offers free kids club and katak/trekking/snorkelling tours. We went one one free snorkling tour but were disappointed- inquire well about the trip before, so you know what to expect. Most guests seemed to be italian, but most staff spoke ok english. The location a little on the outskirt of the village was nice in our opinion- it allowed for great views, quiet surroundings, and the harbour was still an easy 10 min walk away, on pedestrian paths. Getting to the hotel by car was tricky as many streets in the village are one-way!
