I was slightly dubious about staying here, however on arrival we were greeted warmly, given our keys and opened the door to our 2 bedroom 2 bathroom 2 storey accommodation. Wow, that was the first impression, bright, clean, spacious and bigger than anticipating. Comfortable beds, clean fresh linen and a linen change mid-stay. The pool was large, however swim caps must be worn but these were available at reception for 2 euros. The bar/shop/restaurant was fabulous, Marco was always there with a warm greeting and his Mum cooked the delicious food. 8 euros for a litre of local wine made for a couple of very pleasant evenings. There are a couple of restaurants local to the residence and the beach is about a 10 minute walk. The water park is about a 6 minute drive and although not the cheapest day out the kids really enjoyed it.

We had a two story family house in the Rosa dei venti Residence. The area has 40 or 50 two story family houses and a central appartment complex. We had a two bedroom house with two bathrooms and a small garden. The kids had the above area with a balcony. The house was very clean and had enough space for 4 persons. The air conditioning was very good in all rooms. The kitchen utilities were okay, but could be better for a complete family. The living area is very small with a small sofa and a mini TV. Wifi was reasonable, but not good. The mosquitos were a pain the whole day. All family members had lots of mosquito bites all over the body. There is even a desinfection every week so you can stand the tiny horrible animals. In the complex is a nice pool area with some shade. The bad thing is that the pool can hardly be used for swimming, because all the nice (italian) folks are standing in the pool using their mobile phone or playing water ball. So we could only swim in the pool in selected times. Most visitors are from Italy and Suisse. The service of the residence was very good. Every small problem has been solved friendly and fast. The animation is okay if you speak some italian. The games at night are only for kids or italian people. Besides the residence is a medium sized amusement park (Luna park), which is very loud until 1 or 2 a.m. in the night. In the area are some mini super markets and restaurants. There is also a market on the street at nights. Pretty nice for the younger kids, but not if you want some quiet rest at night. The next beaches are very crowded and not very nice - so you should take your car to Cecina, where you will find quiet beaches in the woods. All together the residence is nice with some strengths and some weeknesses, like everywhere. If you like a quiet vacation you should head for another place more inland. Otherwise you will have a nice stay.

We had a nice time in this family oriented and dog friendly residence. The appartment itself is nice and clean, the swimming pool is very pleasant as well as the rest of the equipment available to us. The staff was friendly and helpful. The down sides are: no essentials are provided (sugar, salt, oil, kitchen towels, toilet paper...), we need to clean the kitchen and bring all the bins to the main garbage outside the residence and finally the quality of the water is very poor and undrinkable. Overall, our staying was nice and with good value, we just wished to know all those points beforehand.
