Unfortunately, the hotel is scheduled to be closed for refurbishment from June-December, 2026. Still, I wanted to offer a review. The is was our second visit in 12 years, both for wedding anniversary events. We had a nice time. The staff is phenomenal. They're so kind, helpful, friendly, and good at what they do. The food and drink were good, some even great. We had nice meals at the Italian restaurant and Surf and Turf restaurant. Otherwise, we kept with the two outdoor venues near the pool, one being a buffet and the other being a walk-up grill. We had tasty meals at both. The room with a courtyard and pool view and the beach and ocean behind it was nice and comfortable. We did have issues with loud music from a DJ at the bar off the lobby. However, the staff understood and we were moved to a better room, one with an ocean view and butler. The staff did the right thing. Again, wonderful staff. We did not venture off grounds this trip, but they are many excursion options from the hotel. Onsite staff will help make the arrangements. One last thing is we used the Fun & Fitness facility every morning. Although we did not do classes, we used the treadmills, ellipticals, dumbbells, and weight machines. The equipment is fairly well maintained, although a few could be replaced. Overall, the building and pool area is still impressive and well-maintained, but it has signs of wear and tear, so the updating and modernizing is due. It will surely be amazing when it's completed. Perhaps we will visit a third time.

Great vacation at JOIA I was very happy with this resort. I found the food to be delicious (special thanks to Claudio and Orville,they went out their ways to make us happy. The beach was beautiful and clean and the bar service great (Thanks to Keresa for making me the perfect heart of Jamaica drink) The hôtel rooms are large and comfortable and the service was excellent ( thank you Rose Marie you are the best) Thanks to Britannia at the French restaurant for chilling our glasses of sparkling wine. We appreciated the drink so much more. The reception staff was always smiling and in such a good mood ( thanks Sonika) Thanks to all the outdoor activities team specially Alrick and Ace for the volleyball fun. Overall I found the staff to be the best of all the resorts I have been over the years. I hope they will all still be there when I return to this resort.

“Very disappointing”

Our original plan was to stay from May 26- June 2, but they told me that they had no availability for the night of June 1st. Our original plan was to stay from May 26- June 2, but they told me that they had no availability for the night of June 1st. What they omitted to tell me is that they were closing down for renovations starting the afternoon of 6/1/26. Had I known this , I would have chosen another hotel. ~Room had a moisture and mold problem, which caused a strong musty smell that didn’t disappear after airing out and constantly running the AC . The odor lingered on our clothing; laundered everything when we got home. ~Menu choices were very limited . The breakfast buffet was very good but the food at the restaurants where we had dinner were mediocre at best, with the exception of the Greek Restaurant at the neighboring property. ~Staff members were friendly, polite and helpful. This was the least impressive property that I have stayed at in the area.
