We had the best time! The kids club was a total win for us. We’d come back to this resort just for this. Jenny is incredible who runs kids club. She loves the kids like her own!! Loved our room as well. Was so beautiful! Javier at the pool was so attentive and took great care of us!

We just got back from a week stay at Solmar Pacific Dunes and have pretty mixed feelings. The Good: The views here are genuinely stunning — worth the trip on their own. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive the whole stay, and the property had a calm, peaceful feel without feeling overrun with guests. If you're looking for a resort that isn't packed wall-to-wall with tourists, this delivers. The Not-So-Good: A few things kept this from being a 5-star stay. First, be prepared for high-pressure timeshare sales tactics — we felt cornered more than once and it put a damper on the relaxed vibe the resort was otherwise going for. Second, the location is about 30 minutes from town, and your only options for getting there are an expensive private car or a shuttle bus that only runs every two hours — so don't expect much spontaneity if you want to explore outside the resort. Cost-wise, for a family of three on the all-inclusive package, we were paying over $500/day, which felt steep given the extra sales pressure we dealt with on top of it. And oddly, the resort wouldn't allow Domino's to deliver a pizza we'd ordered — a small thing, but it added to the feeling that they really want to control (and monetize) everything you eat and do on-site. Bottom line: Gorgeous setting and lovely staff, but go in with clear boundaries about the timeshare presentation, budget for transportation, and don't expect much flexibility with outside food or off-resort trips.

So let me just say, this is a beautiful property and the staff are amazing! The activity staff are great. My adult daughter and I did private bracelet making class with Valerina and it was a blast! So only why 3 stars? The good: great rooms, plenty of pools and attentive staff. We never had trouble getting a spot at the pool. I also like that they have a very good fitness center (no additional charge) and decency free wifi. The bad: the property is very isolated. This would not be a huge issue, except that they only have very limited restaurants; a sports bar with a limited menu, a more upscale restaurant that is pricey, pool bars (that close at 6) and a deli. A cab to town is $50+ each way. They have a shuttle, but it only runs every other hour and drops you at the sister property which is a 15 minute walk to the marina. There is ongoing construction that is very loud, but I won't knock them too much for that as this is common in Mexico these days with newer resorts. Along with the common issue of hearing your upstairs neighbors because of the tile floors - although this could be solved somewhat with felt bottoms to the furniture so it is not so loud when moved. This would easily be 5 stars with either: More restaurants A rotating menu at the sports bar Or more shuttle options that take you closer to downtown/marina. While we enjoyed ourselves here, I doubt I will be returning to this property, the additional time and cost to eat off property is just too much.
