Absolutely amazing experience from start to finish! The resort was beautiful, clean, and very relaxing. The staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect during our stay. The food, drinks, entertainment, and atmosphere were all top tier. The rooms were comfortable with incredible views, and the resort had plenty of activities while still feeling peaceful and luxurious. This was definitely a much-needed getaway, and we’re already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a fun, relaxing, and unforgettable vacation experience!

“Beautiful property!”

The Riu Santa Fe is a beautiful resort. The wait staff is excellent and friendly. Fernando at the front desk was excellent. Our room was kept clean. We had a lovely ocean front room in building 7. The nights when they are hosting the Jungle, Pink, White and Neon parties it is extremely loud. Obnoxiously loud music is played, young adults are out of control. They had a cute kids night show almost every night, however most parents did not monitor their children and the staff entertaining the children let them run a muck. The floors were very slippery and kids were falling down. Restrooms were kept clean. Lounge chairs need to be scrubbed clean as did the snack tables. They were dirty and sticky. Smoking is allowed and people are pigs, dropping their cigarette butts all over the place including pool side. Being that the resort is kid friendly there should be a smoking section for people smoking cigarettes and pot! Yes, people were smoking pot. Food was good, drinks were watered down. Margarita mix and pina colada mix had a terrible after taste. The spa treatments were amazing.

We had a really quick and easy check-in, Leo was friendly, helpful and generally quite lovely. We requested a room in a quiet area because we heard this resort has a party atmosphere. We're in our 50s, so going hard isn't really our prerogative, lol. Leo put us on the third floor of Villa 1 on the north side, which was perfect. The north side of Villa 1 doesn't have the most beautiful view, but that's not a priority to us. The villas don't have elevators, so six flights of stairs was a bit of a slog, but not the end of the world. We've stayed at a Riu resort twice before, so our room was exactly as we expected it. It had everything we needed and was very comfortable. Because there is a high population of 20 somethings on this resort, evening/nighttime noise was not unexpected, and it did happen. That said, it was nothing terribly disruptive that we couldn't deal with. Early one evening there was a loud altercation in the hall outside our room, but Security shut it down pretty quickly. Understanding the demographics of the resort in advance was helpful in knowing what to be prepared for. This property is Riu's largest resort anywhere in the world, 1600 rooms, so it has a huge footprint. We explored it when we first arrived, and got a sense of where we wanted to spend our time. Because our villa was close to all the restaurants and we set up at the main pool every day, we didn't actually have to walk an excessive amount to get where we wanted to be. The two main pools, while having lots of kids present, were actually pretty chill. Yeah, kids laughing and screaming as kids do, but the pools are large enough you can find a quiet area to hang out. It was also pretty easy to get loungers in more 'desirable' (shady) areas without getting up at 6 a.m. We got the same poolside loungers for the duration of our stay, and we usually went out 8:30-9:00. We arrived starving at mid-afternoon, so we dipped into American Country for a quick bite. Food was mediocre and service was lacking, so we never went back. The buffet food was what we experienced on our previous Riu stays - a good variety and fairly decent quality. My critique here would be is that more popular items are not replenished quickly. We never went hungry, and there were many items we found to be excellent. Buffet staff were very efficient and friendly. The lunch buffet at La Mission was quite good, and snack bars were adequate. The Italian restaurant is 100% buffet as well, and it was good, but not so very different from the main buffet. Kind of pointless, IMO. We wanted to eat at the Steakhouse and tried to get in twice, but it was extremely popular and we weren't able to eat there. Oh well, next time! There was a variety of evening entertainment available, and lots of areas in the lobby area to sit and play cards if you wanted. This resort definitely doesn't go dark at 9 p.m.! This was our first time in Cabo, and we loved the resort, the weather, the general vibe. We've been to Mexico many times over the years, and this was one of our best trips. We are planning to return to Riu Santa Fe at the same time next year.

Nice hotel overall, the property was very clean and the staff were super friendly. The only downside was the food quality being at an all-inclusive. Obviously you’re not going to get the best food overall. And it was a party resort so it was pretty crowded at times. It was a good bang for our buck as we paid $1500 per person for seven days all inclusive, although I would recommend not choosing a party room if you enjoy your sleep, we had to upgrade to oceanfront because the party was really overwhelming. I’d say if you want a cheap all-inclusive vacation package to go for it, I like Riu hotels as you know what you are getting, I probably would choose a different destination next time like Puerto Vallarta or Mayan Riviera, though, as I prefer more jungle terrain versus the desert.
