Carla even took the time to make my daughter a bracelet. It was nice that they not only entertained with games, workouts, etc, but that they would actually sit and talk with us and make conversation.

The resort itself is beautiful, and the staff was consistently friendly throughout our stay. The rooms, pools, and restaurants are all well maintained, and the views are outstanding. We spent the first three days on the room only rate, and the last three on the all-inclusive plan. For most people, the all-inclusive package is probably worth it for the convenience, especially if you plan to spend your days enjoying the pools, lazy river, and attentive poolside service. My only real complaints are that the resort is expensive for what it offers, and I could have done without the timeshare hard sell. To be fair, once we gave a few firm "no's," they respected our decision and backed off. As for the restaurants, La Taberna was excellent across the board and ended up being our favorite meal at the resort. Unfortunately, Latitud 23.5 Steak House didn't live up to expectations. The service was noticeably slow, and the food was just average, especially compared to the beautiful photos and marketing materials. One thing the resort should seriously reconsider is the pricing of the all-inclusive package for children. Charging roughly $150 per day for a 13-year-old seems excessive, considering they aren't drinking alcohol and can't even use the gym. During our room-only portion of the trip, we explored the area. We spent two days in Cabo San Lucas and one day in San José del Cabo. We did the obligatory boat tour in Cabo, stopped by Walmart to stock the room with snacks and drinks, and visited the Thursday Art Walk in San José del Cabo. While the artwork itself may not be world-class, the historic district is charming, full of galleries, restaurants, and local culture, making it well worth an evening stroll. We primarily used Uber, which was convenient. If you're looking to save a little money, you can also take the local bus. The easiest route is from Cabo San Lucas to San José del Cabo. The bus stops right in front of Villa La Valencia on the hotel side of the highway. Coming back is a bit trickier. The bus will stop if you flag it down, but crossing the highway isn't particularly convenient, and there's not much of a designated waiting area. One final observation: Cabo doesn't feel like the value destination it once was. Prices have climbed significantly over the past few years, and during our visit, Cabo San Lucas felt surprisingly quiet. Restaurants, bars, and clubs all seemed eager for customers. Whether that's due to rising prices, changing travel habits, or broader economic factors, I can't say. But Cabo has built its reputation on being a more affordable luxury destination, and that perception appears to be fading. If prices continue to outpace the experience, I worry the area could lose some of the appeal that made it such a popular destination in the first place.
