“Overpriced”

Stayed here one night. Very much a three star rating accommodation. A very Bumpy Road to get to the hotel but later found out there is another route which is much smoother. Reception rather basic and aged with dog bowls. Won’t sit on the sofa at the reception-Not particularly well kept/ clean. The hotel interior is beautifully manicured. Room: Florencia- beautiful view of the Beach below-Playa Carazallilo. The Prices for four persons to stay in this room would be good value but if it’s just two persons sharing the two beds then it’s over priced. Two beds in one room rather than two Individual rooms which is divided by the ward robe with one very small and cramped bathroom. Open wardrobe- not even a curtain. Sparce interior with no paintings , very low lighting with few light sources, very dark room especially at night. . Terracotta tiles with ikea style white cotton curtains on metal runners which do not block out the sun so you wake up as sun is up. Bed fairly comfortable but bedding quality could be better . There is a fan and aircon for each of two bed sections. Only one chair int he whole room and coffe table. On the other bed area- tv was provided. Bathroom very small, shower head lower than usual so if your 6 ft, you will be effected and will be lower than you head. Bathroom felt very cramped. The usual don’t put the toilet rolls down the bog. Toiletries was ok. No body lotion. Next to the room with a separate door is the kitchen with fridge and water cooler and a cooker with Coffee and coffee machine provided. Exterior was a dining table with 4 chairs in a dark corner. There are also three uncomfortable chairs with a nice view, which is marketed on the hotels website as your private terrace except that it where the walk way to the room is and next to the communal seating area. The communal area has seats, hammocks and lounge chairs which is more comfortable except for the extractor fan for the kitchen with a scrapping noise every time it went around. Brought it to the attention of concierge and they said was nothing they could do. It wasn’t on all the time- just during meal times. The exit to the beach is also close to the room with over 100 steps to get down with a locked gate . Keys attached to the main door keys. Parking- no designation, just anywhere there is space in front of the hotel. Staff: front desk, friendly and helpful. Breakfast : not included in room charges, good fruits with granola( paid extra for granola) the papaya juice was excellent, the white vegetarian omelet was good. Total came up to 800+ pesos which is very dear.
