Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres was an A+ treat. The resort is laid out in a way that makes you feel like it is a small boutique hotel. The staff were excellent, especially concierges Luis & Miguel, bartender Hugo and pool attendant Celeste. The weather was a bit windy with a few downpours, which exacerbated the seaweed condition at the beach. The resort did an excellent job to remove the seaweed from the beach. Once the weather calmed down, the seaweed cleared up somewhat. It was not enough, at least for me, to deter me from taking a nice swim in the ocean (I grew up on the ocean, so am used to the vagaries that comes with it). The food was excellent, portions were on the larger size. All in all, my wife and I had an great 5 day vacation and would go again.

This was my first time at a Secrets resort and I will absolutely be back! I booked a 5 night stay under 2 separate reservations (1 using points, 1 using cash) and chose the Preferred Club (PC) for the extra amenities (which included: access to an extra PC pool, PC lounge with premium liquor and hot/cold hors d’oeuvres throughout the day, access to lunch at some of the restaurants on site that were otherwise closed until dinner, a welcome package of coupons that could be applied towards the spa, premium wine, or a “romantic” dinner experience, an assigned butler/concierge to assist you with pretty much anything you needed throughout your stay. Before we checked in I was contacted by the resort staff and asked if we were celebrating anything (we were! My birthday was the week before) and when we arrived they had the special birthday amenities set up for me in our room. Upon arrival we were greeted with a welcome drink and check in at the VIP area and then received a small tour of the property on our way to our room. Grounds were absolutely gorgeous and kept very clean! Our room was wonderful - we had a 2nd floor jungle view with 2 double beds. Our balcony had a bath/hot tub and a seating area which was really nice, especially on the day that we experienced heavy rain for most of the day - I chilled in the tub on our balcony to escape the weather and there was enough trees and greenery around that it still felt pretty private. The room had a mini fridge (with sodas, juices, waters, etc.), nespresso machine/pods, and snacks that could be replenished every day upon our request. Our butlers for the week were Cass and Demi and they were both so friendly and helpful. We received texts from them everyday that included a schedule of day & night activities and restaurant availabilities, and they always made it a point to come and find us at least once a day to say hi. I really appreciated that all of the restaurants were first come first serve rather than a reservation system; however, the hibachi tables at the Himitsu restaurant were reservation only and we requested Cass and Demi’s help securing that reservation. The hibachi dinner was so fun - I’ve been to a million of them but they’re always a good time. The food at all of the restaurants was hit and miss but I think that’s expected at an all inclusive. I don’t drink alcohol I still felt like I got my moneys worth with mocktails, pool side snacks, and trying a bunch of different dishes at each meal. LOVED the cafe on grounds and that it was open 24/7 - got plenty of yummy iced coffees and treats over there too. All of the staff was so friendly and helpful, Celeste was one of the concierges at the PC pool and helped us find pool chairs on our last day (which was the busiest day of our stay by far) We didn’t spend too much time on the PC beach area but did check out that bar since it had the swings lol All of the guests that we met throughout our stay also had wonderful things to say about their experience at this resort and at Secrets resorts in general. One couple even told me that this was the closest to a 10/10 stay that they’ve experienced at a Secrets! Even though they’re definitely marketed as “romantic”, my best friend and I didn’t feel awkward or out of pace at all and there were definitely other small friend groups there too. I would absolutely come back because there was so much I feel like we didn’t get to do/see, both on and off resort!

Would like to make a special comment about Manny from concierge service who kept us informed about the daily entertainment and activities, regularly checking if we needed anything. Also Jonas and Sue from entertainment, the Coco cafe staff were brilliant! Thank you to Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujares for a fantastic location and experience!!
