Resort was beautiful and very clean. We stayed on the impression side. Food was very good. Bar service was timely given the atmosphere. The pools were beautiful, clean and cool. The entertainment team - Jose & Jazmin were very engaging and fun to be around, connecting us with other guests. This trip was wonderful and we would definitely suggest this for any couple looking for a quiet, intimate getaway for an anniversary or honeymoon.

This was one of the best hotel experiences my boyfriend and I have ever had. The extra for Impressions is 100% worth it! A lot of people on here complain about the beach/seaweed. They literally warn you so many times while booking so we knew to expect that so we weren’t upset at all. We hardly even noticed the smell, honestly this resort smells amazing everywhere. It’s also SO CLEAN. Hardly even any leaves on the paths. The butlers were super attentive but never invasive or overbearing, shout out to Maili, Emilio and Neftali! They made the trip even better. The food was all great but the highlight was Teodoro. Would recommend getting the wine pairings for $50USD, totally worth it. The staff was so knowledgeable and their attention to detail was Michelin level. David and Michael took care of us and did such a wonderful job! We also want to shout out Luis at the impressions lobby bar. Seriously what an awesome guy! He remembered us and our orders every time we came down for a drink. Lastly, the activities and shows here are seriously so good. Some resorts lack in that but not here! The shows were super fun and every seat in that theater is a great one. Also all the poolside activities were so much fun. Jazmin had the best water aerobics class, we had so much fun we ended up joining her for bingo too! Overall, would recommend to everyone looking to splurge and stay somewhere that is definitely worth the money!! Can’t wait to go back.

Review Title: Good but Not Elite – Impression Moxché by Secrets Review (Early June Stay) We stayed at Impression Moxché by Secrets in Playa del Carmen in early June. We chose the Impressions side expecting a true premium all-inclusive experience. The resort has strong points, especially the food and pools, but enough inconsistencies and upcharges that it didn’t fully deliver for the high price point. Rooms & Pools: The swim-out room was spectacular — comfortable bed, nice bathroom, and a fantastic balcony. We were very happy with the room itself. There are plenty of pools, which is a big plus. However, the beach was not a premium experience this time of year due to heavy sargassum (tremendous amounts with noticeable smell and look). This made the lower Impressions pools hardly used, so the upper pools stayed very crowded. Poolside service suffered as a result — it was fairly slow and unimpressive for this level of resort. Food & Drink: The food was above average compared to most all-inclusives we’ve tried (we’ve stayed at 25–30). Some very good meals. However, the restaurants were hit-or-miss with inconsistent service and plating (four salads could all look completely different). Embers steakhouse huge disappointment as the premium cuts are in a case to view but an additional charge if you truly want a premium piece of beef. Mind boggling to me. This is where Impressions just can’t break out of the All Inclusive box-they remind you they are exactly that. The hibachi at the Asian restaurant was okay but inconsistent — my wife’s steak was nicely done in large pieces, while mine was finely cut and overcooked. Cocktails were a notable weakness. There’s no real mixology or consistency program. The same drink (rum & Coke, margarita, Cosmopolitan, etc.) was made differently at every bar — sometimes too strong on mixer, sometimes properly balanced. Same drink may come in any one of a number of glasses and never made the same. Premium liquors are available on the Impressions side (nice), but you really have to know what you want since there are no menus and quality depends on communication with the bartender. Service & Other Notes: Butler service was very hit-or-miss. Restaurant service ranged from very good to big misses. A policy change upon arrival required dinner reservations (none needed when we booked), which forced us into very late seating (8:30–9:00 pm) the first couple nights. For a supposed premium experience, this felt like the resort setting the rules instead of catering to guests. Overall: The rooms and food are genuine strengths. The property itself is super nice with lots of pool options. But the sargassum (understandably not the resort’s fault), inconsistent service/drinks, hidden paywalls on some premium offerings, and reservation issues added up. At this price point, I expected more consistency and a true all-inclusive feel. It didn’t break the typical all-inclusive mold for me. I’m not sure we’d return in sargassum season and will likely choose differently next time. As a comparison Atelier Playa Mujeres, food on par with Secrets. Amazing mixology program. Service is incomparably better. Rating: 3.5 / 5 (or 7/10)
