“No more adults only areas... :(”

This was our 3rd time at this Ocean resort and while the service and food were still great, we were EXTREMELY disappointed to discover they've eliminated El Beso and there are no adults only areas anywhere. Evidently they converted the adults only pool to just "Privilege" and now kids are allowed.… more

This was our 3rd time at this Ocean resort and while the service and food were still great, we were EXTREMELY disappointed to discover they've eliminated El Beso and there are no adults only areas anywhere. Evidently they converted the adults only pool to just "Privilege" and now kids are allowed. Being at a family resort is fine, but there MUST be a place for just adults. We may go back, but will try their new 'now' adults only resort Allure in Costa Mujeres next time.

“Great Hotel, Amazing Restaurants, some annoying petty niggles”

Overall the hotel was lovely. We were upgraded to privilege as we had originally booked the El Beso section. Have to honest our butler was pretty useless, He came and said hi a few times but really didn't add anything to the experience. Privilege pool was lovely and all the pool staff were incredible and helpful. Rooms were lovely and really enjoyed the jacuzzi bath although cleaning was a little lapse (forgot towels, run of out bubble bath and the coffee/milk were rarely topped up enough) All of these were just little niggles though. The buffet restaurant was only open for dinner a couple of nights a week and when it was the hot food options were pretty dull and not very plentiful. However, this wasn't a problem for us as all the a la carte restaurants were just incredible. Had some amazing meals and booking wasn't an issue if you were chilled about where you ate or were organised. Staff in the restaurants were generally all lovely (apart from the grumpy waiter in the Italian). Don't miss out on the fillets steaks in the Italian and Privilege Lounge. Just the best I've ever had. The seaweed on the beach was a real shame but not much they can do about mother nature. A few days at the end of our stay the smell was everywhere in the hotel. Overall, the hotel was lovely. There was everything there you could possibly need or want. Staff were great and helpful. All the above really are just niggles though. They didn't affect our enjoyment of the holiday and I can't rate the restaurants enough. Would I go back? - probably not but that's mainly because of the unusable beach. The hotel itself is amazing.

LOVED THE HOTEL but Seaweed was horrendous. Couldn't go in the ocean and place stunk like fish. Bad time of the year if you want to use the beach or swim in ocean. LOVED THE HOTEL but Seaweed was horrendous. Couldn't go in the ocean and place stunk like fish. Bad time of the year if you want to use the beach or swim in ocean. Communication at reservation wasn't the greatest. The buffet isn't always open for dinner. They didn't tell us where the a la carte were so we had to ask people. You have to scan a QR code to get a reservation at certain restaurants and you didn't know what was open or when, until you scanned to QR code. Spots fill up fast so you have to go online at 10 am. Even when you are in the restaurant, you'll find a lot of empty tables. Can't complain about the food and bartenders are fantastic. Japanese and Blue Romantic was delicious. Was not impressed with the Italian. Soup was way too salty and pasta was raw. and gnocchi tasted like mashed rolled potatoes only. Rooms and beds were comfy. Plenty of hot water. NOW BEWARE; YOU CAN ARRANGE A FREE TRIP TO PLAYA DEL CARMEN BUT IN ORDER TO GET THERE THEY STOP YOU AT A SILVER JEWELRY COMPANY FOR 1 1/2 HOUR THEN NEXT DOOR TO A TEQUILA STORE. BE CAREFUL BELOW............... SALES PEOLPLE OUTSIDE THE STORES WILL TELL YOU THEY WORK AT YOUR HOTEL (most common line used down there) AND PRETEND TO BE YOUR FRIEND AND LEAD YOU TO THEIR SHOP. I THOUGHT I BOUGHT A NICE PIECE OF GOLD ONLY TO HAVE IT TARNISHED THE NEXT DAY. WATCH YOUR CREDIT CARDS. CHECK THE BALANCES BEFORE YOU LEAVE THAT STORE. MY FRIEND HAD HER PURCHASE BILLED 3 TIMES. THE GUY WAS WAVING IT UP IN THE AIR SAYING THERE WAS NO INTERNET CONNECTION WHEN IN FACT HE WAS CHARGING HER PURCHASE 3 TIMES THE AMOUNT. WATCH THAT THEY INPUT THE CORRECT AMOUNT. BETTER STILL DONT BUY ANYTHING IF YOU DON'T HAVE TO. We talked to a lot of people that also got ripped off. 5th Avenue shopping is nice but watch your purchases.

We stayed for two weeks in May 2026 at the Ocean Coral and Turquesa in Riviera Maya Mexico. It was in good proximity to the airport and was greeted by welcoming and helpful staff. The entire resort is well maintained, with on-going renovations and daily painting being done. Our room was always clean and well stocked. The restaurants were on the okay side of things outside Blue Moon, the adults only restaurant. It was fantastic everytime. The 4 pools are separated and allow kids and families their own space away from the younger crowd that like the loud music and crazy games. If you're a pool person this is a great resort for the whole family. However, the pictures the resort posts if their beaches are outdated as there is no beach. In the two weeks we were there, the beach went from some sand and piles of seaweed to huge cliffs of sand disappearing into the ocean. The smell will knock you off your feet. They try to clean it up but unfortunately it only made it worse by creating pools of water and seaweed to collect and further sand to be dragged out to sea. Very sad as we are beach people. We made the best of it as the pools are great but do not be fooled into thinking you can take a dip in the ocean or even walk along the ocean water. Mike Coffee Shop is the absolute best be sure to visit daily!
