The hotel is pretty remote there is nothing close by like shops or restaurants. It’s about a 15 minute taxi to albuferia. We were happy with this though because we didn’t leave the hotel. The Grounds are massive and beautiful really well maintained with flowers and trees and the sprinklers are on at night to keep the grass green…I think because the grounds are so large it means that some parts are in need of upgrading, the paving is very uneven in many parts and my daughter who is 5 frequently tripped over. There is a playground for younger kids, it has a ping pong table, volleyball, boules, darts, archery so much stuff for kids! The animation team is great and are very enthusiastic. There’s a small shop on the grounds which sells all the basics things you’d want. There is an entrance to the beach just to the back of the hotel, it’s not for the weak as it’s a a winding wooden staircase which has 87 steps down (my daughter counted them!) once your down though the beach is amazing. The pools are great, there’s one large main pool a kids pool with a small slide, then there’s a splash pool which has slides and buckets emptying out and water jets then there’s a quieter pool at the other side of the hotel. you do have to get up early to reserve a sun bed but that’s pretty standard at most hotels The room we were given was in block L and was pretty basic, there was very limited space to put anything. There was only one plug socket in the whole room which was just annoying. The shower was absolutely tiny and made it quite tricky when trying to give my daughter a wash. The black out curtains badly needed to be replaced half of them weren’t on the tracks and they were full of little holes. Despite this it was clean and comfortable. Depending on what block you get it could be quite a walk to the reception and pool, it was about a 5 minute walk for us so not bad at all. All the rooms are either up 2 flights of stairs or down them so not great if you have a pushchair, a lot of people left them outside the entrance. Food There was very little choice and it became very repetitive. There was no theme each day all they seemed to change was the meat. They had no dedicated part for kids which meant my daughter either had plain pasta or chips everyday Lunch was slightly better than dinner as they had pizza but the poor man making them couldn’t keep up with the demand which resulted in a large queue waiting for them to be ready each day. The buffet wasn’t large enough for the amount of people which meant there were queues and people just walking into you or leaning over you to get food, there weren’t enough tables or staff to turn them round quick enough. There was a snack bar open when the buffet was closed which offered cakes, pizza, hot dogs, toasties and burgers There was also 2 à la carte restaurants which you had to book there was the grill and a Portuguese restaurant. We only tried the grill which my husband really liked but I struggled with a bit as I don’t eat meat. Even though there were a few negatives we had a great holiday.

What a fantastic resort. It far exceeded my expectations! We travelled with two kids, 7 and 8 and another family also with two kids, 8 and 10 and we all absolutely loved it. We booked a couple of excursions via hotel reception and some we booked ourselves. You can also book via the TUI rep. Big plus is the 4 Euro hotel shuttle bus into Albufeira/ Villamoura which is around 15 mins. We went in August and it was around 40% Brits, 40% Germans, with a few Polish, Spanish and French. Staff seemed to speak lots of languages and they miraculously pulled off the entertainment and kids club in a way everyone could understand! FOOD: Great food, good service and an excellent buffet selection as well as two restaurants which you have to book in advance. We tried each of the restaurants once and they were both to an excellent standard. The main buffet restaurant Al Gharb was fantastic, but it was a pleasant surprise that The Grill restaurant up by the second pool also offered breakfast. Both restaurants offered burgers, fries, hot dogs, sandwiches and sandwiches bridging the gap between lunch and dinner which is very useful if you have growing kids who are always hungry or if you do an excursion and miss lunch, you can still find something to eat. POOLS: Pools open from 8 am to 8 pm which is a huge plus. The big main pool is busy with aquafit, live music and various other entertainment throughout the day and evening. The second pool nearer to the beach is quieter and is a great for lounging peacefully under the trees with views of the sea. They also have a waterslide/ splash play in a completely separate area near the front of the hotel so the kids can be as loud and noisy as they like. ROOMS: Basic, nothing fancy, could probably use a facelift, but we had firm beds we slept really well in and a great power shower. Also a small balcony/patio so you could have a quiet coffee in the morning and hang your swimsuits out to dry. Our friends had two beds plus a couch for the two kids and reported the kids found the couch to small and uncomfortable to sleep on, but we had four beds which worked great. BEACH: Beautiful, dreamy beach. Amazing to have this private beach with umbrellas and loungers. I noticed the attendants removing towels that had been left there for hours with no one using them - this is brilliant as it's not fair for people to block off loungers for the whole day without using them. Well done Adriana Resort! ENTERTAINMENT & SPORTS: Lots of good live entertainment, mainly singing and musical performances. Lots of extras for the kids like a paint party in the beach volleyball court, bringing in extra things like a reptile show, trampoline one night..etc. They really made a big effort. They offer stretching, cardio, aquafit, darts and a few other things to keep it fun. The kids club seemed to make quite a big effort to offer a variety of things for kids. The big let down in the tennis/ basketball courts. For such a stunning resort, it's really disappointing that the basketball nets were destroyed and the tennis court is in such bad shape someone will eventually end up with an injury. We would like to come again next year, so I really hope they fix the tennis court and basketball nets and maybe even add in a Padel court. Such a fantastic resort really should have proper sports facilities. Overall, it was a dreamy holiday and we can't wait to return!

Lots of positives: the resort was exceptionally clean, with beautifully maintained gardens. The food was good, and, although, as with most all‑inclusive options, the choices became a little repetitive, everything was fresh and well presented. The entertainment team were engaging and fun and always had something happening throughout the day. Rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels provided, and all staff were consistently polite, friendly, and genuinely seemed happy to help. There were a few downsides: The resort is quite far from the main areas, and walking anywhere wasn’t really practical. The nearby roads had no pavements and were narrow, so we relied on Uber for most trips. The beach was beautiful, but access was via a long flight of wooden steps, which felt a bit precarious when navigating with a two‑year‑old. The biggest frustration was the sunbed situation. Unless you were up at the crack of dawn and had a towel on a bed by around 9am, every single one had already been taken. Despite these negatives, they didn’t spoil our holiday at all. The weather was fantastic, and we all had the best time.
