We booked last minute and didn't have huge expectations due to the price we paid and some of the mixed reviews and the hotel look online. We were happily proved wrong! The animation team were amazing, always so much going on and keen to get everyone involved. They went above and beyond with the children and made them feel welcome to participate. We were lucky to be there when the foam party and inflatables were on which my child loved. The grounds are large enough to have a wonder but also contained enough to let children have some freedom and independence. Food was what you would expect in a 4star all inclusive, drinks were good and lots of choice. We used the Grill twice as like more of a relaxed meal setting and this had a nice vibe. Always lots of snacks out in the afternoon. Hotel is a bit out of the way but we got Bolt at roughly £7 each way in to Albufeira or Vilamora a few evenings. Very close to the beach, a few steps to get down but didn't bother us at all. Lovely workout areas within the grounds and tennis courts to play on. The pools never felt crowded and always had a sun bed available. Hotel grounds were well maintained, gardens tidy etc. Our room was on the slightly small side and missed cleaning one day but no big drama. The bar could get busy and sometimes glasses weren't cleared from tables but i think there may have been staff shortages in this area. They worked extremely hard to try to keep on top of things. Overall we had a lovely time here and I would recommend

First of all , despite what I am going to review, we would absolutely book again. This is a balanced review to highlight the good bits and what could be improved to truly make it a four star hotel. Grounds are lovely , well kept and lots of room for kids to explore and have fun. Rooms are pretty basic but ours slept four comfortably. Nice balcony , but our room 212 in block F had an air conditioning unit that dripped constantly. We resorted to putting towels down outside to mop up the leak. These were not removed. Room cleaning not the best. Empty glasses not taken away and floors not swept. Simply beds made and bins emptied. Windows were also dirty on the outside and our tap was very loose from the basin. No information at all provided re meal times or contacting reception. One night we left dinner to walk into a parrot show that had not been advertised. Such a shame as it was fantastic and the people hosting it were wonderful. The pools are great and the splash park a hoot. My grandkids loved it and we spent many happy hours there. The games room is ok , nothing spectacular but the kids enjoyed it. The beach is breathtaking and although a steep climb down and back up, it’s so worth it. We were lucky enough to get sun loungers there and it was truly wonderful to see the kids dodging the waves and finding shells. The kids mini disco is great and the entertainment team work tirelessly to make sure everyone has a good time. The main bar does have long queues and did seem understaffed. Some bar people were more pleasant than others. Same with the restaurant staff. Some never cracked a smile others were lovely. The rudest member of staff goes to a man who was serving at the bar by the smaller pool. He was rude to the point of aggression and I sought out a manager to report it. He swore openly in front of my grandchildren and his whole demeanour was unacceptable. I do hope he was spoken to as i was promised. Food was fantastic. Im a fussy eater and i didnt struggle. Always a fantastic selection and replenished quickly. Pizzas were great. Snacks during the day were burgers, hot dogs , ice cream etc. kids loved getting their hot chocolate from the machine too. Bear in mind that this hotel is remote. Nothing around it. But we liked that. It has all you need including an onsite shop.

We had a wonderful relaxing week here and would happily return. Our room was clean, comfortable and serviced daily, with lovely soft towels provided each day. We especially loved the view from our balcony. Being slightly away from the pools and entertainment meant it was peaceful and quiet, with beautiful sea views. The rooms themselves were fairly basic, which was absolutely fine for us, although tea and coffee making facilities would have been appreciated. You can get drinks from the machines, but while the coffee was decent, the tea wasn't great. The staff were always friendly and kind throughout our stay. The reception team and bar staff were particularly welcoming and helpful. The restaurant staff were also mainly wonderful and worked hard, although at busy times some items could be a little slow to be restocked. We spent most of our time at the smaller pool near the restaurants, which suited us perfectly. It was quieter than the main pool but still had enough families around for our son to find playmates. The small circular children's pool was a particular hit and kept him entertained for ages creating whirlpools! The larger pool was quite cold when you first got in, but you soon got used to it. Everything was exceptionally clean. Sunbeds could be difficult to get later in the day, so like many guests we found ourselves putting towels down early in the morning. The bars were excellent, well stocked and served a good selection of drinks. We particularly enjoyed the beer, cocktails, iced tea and fruit juices. We ate in the main buffet restaurant throughout our stay. We'd heard the grill and Portuguese restaurants offered fixed menus, which we felt might be challenging with our picky eater. The food was generally good, but the selection was quite repetitive and by the end of the week we were craving something with a bit more texture and variety. There was plenty of fruit and some lovely desserts. Breakfast was fine, but the eggs were batch cooked and stored in the fridge until needed. There weren't many child friendly options. The fresh fish and plain meat choices each day were helpful for our son, but otherwise he didn't eat a great deal. He certainly made up for it with chocolate cake and ice cream! There was a seafood curry one evening, although it seemed to be made with frozen seafood. One small disappointment was that there never seemed to be enough Portuguese custard tarts. Whenever they appeared, they disappeared incredibly quickly! Each day there was also a custard pudding, a bit like crème caramel, which was really lovely. I would have liked to see a few more authentic Portuguese options overall. During our stay we visited Zoomarine, which was fantastic and well worth a trip if you're travelling with children. We booked independently and used Uber, which worked out slightly cheaper than booking through the hotel. The beach was absolutely stunning. On our first evening the view genuinely took our breath away. It was much easier to find sunbeds there too. Although lifeguards were on duty, the waves were quite large during our visit, so we stayed close to the shoreline and enjoyed paddling and playing in the surf. One of our favourite things about the resort was the abundance of wildlife. There were so many birds flying around the lush green grounds, which added to the peaceful atmosphere and connection with nature. Overall, we had a fantastic holiday. If we returned, we'd definitely request the same room, as some appeared to be closer to the entertainment areas, had less impressive views or received less sun. Despite a few minor drawbacks, it was a lovely relaxing resort in beautiful surroundings and we would certainly consider visiting again.
