“Exceptional Find”

All the positive things already mentioned in the reviews for Tucha are 100% true. Great apartment, great location and our host Andre was also great. There for us when we needed him. I would definitely rebook should we ever return to the beautiful Algarve.

The apartment was very convenient near all amenities. It was in good condition and very clean.The staff were very helpful and we would be definitely stay there again. We were advised and helped with transfer to and from the airport. Thank you

We stayed at Tucha Apartments for 6 nights April 1-7/26 in Apt. 2 (1 bedroom). There is no front desk at this property so communication with the host Andre is through Whatsapp. You have to advise your flight arrival date, after which Andre will meet you and check you in. We were able to check in early. The apartment was very clean with all the amenities. The bedroom has 2 single beds & very hard mattresses, which took a lot to get use to! Maybe bed toppers would improve this? Nice bathroom with walk in shower. Overall, the apartment is in an ideal location. The Old Town square is a two minute walk and so is the beach. So many places to eat and many souvenir shops. If you get the opportunity, visit the Marina, which is a two minute drive and take the boat tour of the caves, amazing! Tucha was a nice place to stay.

“Poor customer service”

The 3 star rating has nothing to do with the apartment itself. We stayed in number 2. It had a spacious living/dining room, kitchenette, bathroom, and a reasonably sized bedroom. The 3 star rating has nothing to do with the apartment itself. We stayed in number 2. It had a spacious living/dining room, kitchenette, bathroom, and a reasonably sized bedroom. Everything you need for your stay. It is located away from the hustle and bustle of the square. In one direction, you can walk to the square within about 5/10 minutes, the other way you can reach the escalators which lead you down by the beach. The reason for my 3 star rating is purely down to poor communication from Andre. The man who met us with the keys to the apartment. We were unfortunate to of been staying during the power outage, and due to a very dodgy lock on our apartment door, we were unable to access the apartment. With no phone signal, internet etc, we couldnt phone for any sort of assistance. 3 different people tried to use the key to gain access, without success. Eventually after about an hour of worrying where we were going to sleep, and how i was going to access my medication, we managed to get in. Whilst this is no one's fault that all communication had become unavailable, Andre did not check up on anyone once power had been restored. And, on speaking to other members of the public, they had told Andre about the mechanical door locks and that he may need to change them. I can only assume that other people have had issues too. The final nail in the coffin was, on booking these apartments, we asked if our luggage could be stored on our last day due to a late night flight. We were told that if no one was checking in to our room that day, we could extend our stay, if they had someone check in, then they would store our luggage elsewhere. As requested, we sent Andre a message the day before our last day. A few hours later, he text to say he would check. It took him over 12 hours to text back to say someone was checking in and we would have to leave at 11am. This message was sent at midnight. My partner text again to arrange for our luggage to be stored and his reply was "not in the area" and put a sad face. So at the very last minute, we were let down massively. We had to look for a luggage locker (at an extra cost). It seems that once they have your money, they don't care!! Would i stay at these apartments again? Absolutely not!!! If i have learned one thing from this holiday, and the power outage, it is i would rather pay the extra money for a hotel with a 24 hour reception.
