“Ideal spot”

Had a lovely time at these apartments and have stayed here a few times, I requested the same apartment each time and got it, it has a pool bar/restaurant very friendly staff and a great atmosphere……..

First time staying here and unfortunately I have to say I wouldn't come back. The receptionist was lovely and inviting, she showed us to our room. When we tried to enter the door knob fell off. It has a new locking system above so they must have been aware of the old one not working but it's still on there and broken. My first thoughts on the room was it was lovely, it is old which I kinda liked. The tile floors and dark cupboards really made me feel like I was on holiday. However there was some problems. One of the plug sockets was litterqlly came out of the wall when you tried to pull the plug out. The pillows were really bad, very lumpy. The walls are paper thin, you can hear everything and I mean everything. Doors banging very late at night, groups of young, inconsiderate groups playing music till 5.30am started at around 9pm. Talking all night and the 3rs night they were arguing. I complained and the receptionist was already aware. She said she was going to try and find out who it was. The noise continued so I complained again to a different member who was also aware because there has been other complaints but nothing was actually done about it. We got moved to a different block which was a pain at first because the last thing you want to do is pack up all of your stuff move to another apartment (on my own as it was only me and my young daughter) Then to unpack. But it was a blessing in disguise. It was a much better apartment. Better pillows, a lot more quieter and just overall better. On the second night in the first room someone rang our bell at 11.30 at night. My daughter was asleep. I looked through the peep hole but it was completely scratched on the outside so I couldn't make out who it was. They rang the bell again and I asked who it was but I got no answer. I could see someone standing there but I couldn't see any details of features. I felt really unsafe. The reception closes at 6. I tried to ring the number given to us but no one answered. The little pool was dirty, has loads of grass and muck and felt really slimy. The large pool had a sun umbrella at the bottom of the deep end. If they are going to let people use the pool is should be up to standard. We arrived on the Tuesday. By Friday it got really busy around the pool and someone just have said something because they removed the umbrella and it felt loads cleaner. The location is very central, very noisy. There is a supermarket literally 2 minutes away. We did enjoy our holiday and the last 2 days in the hotel. I have to say it was clean and the cleaner came half way through the holiday and cleaned our room and gave us fresh towels etc but I would not rate this 3 star. I've stayed at a 3 star hotel before and the standards were way higher. I would give it a 2 star.
