First, I want to say that as someone whose travel to many countries im leaving this review having experienced customer service but nothing like my self and partner experience in here. We had the privilege to meet the manager ( Renato Pires ) by accident who made us feel welcome from the very get go. He told us the history behind how MGM was fist stabished which my self and partner found super interesting. Not to mentioned the add on that he gave us to make our time way more pleasant, exciting and memorable. He then introduced us to Sheila the receptionist who once again made us feel welcome and seen. She made sure we were taking care of but more amazing was the fact that she paid attention to detail. It was my wife's birthday and without asking her nor expecting anything she left us a bottle of champagne in the room with a lovely message which made my wife smile from ear to ear. I can say that we are 100000% coming back based on our experience here I leave Portugal with a smile and a positive view of this country because of the wonderful customer service we received. We had a magnificent experience at Monicca Collection Suites. The standards are incredibly high: the hotel is spotless, warm, and very welcoming. The service was top-notch, and the staff truly went above and beyond to make us feel at home—a huge thank you to the whole team! And of course, the view is simply breathtaking. “A very relaxing and enjoyable vacation in beautiful surroundings on the Algarve coast”

The staff, housekeeping included, provided exceptional service. The hotel on its starts to show some wear, but it is still a very nice hotel. The terrace on our room was very spacious. However - the furniture and sun-beds could have been more comfortable. Bathroom was small, but you don’t live on your bathroom so we got by. During our stay there was a slight smell, presumably from the plumbing . We didn’t use any of the hotel restaurants. Nearby restaurants was of good quality so we’re satisfied. There was a multitude of different choices in close proximity. And as such we was also very satisfied with the hotel location directly on the beach, at the same time it was excellent starting point to explore more of nearby places (Faro, Lagos, Alte) Again I have to compliment the staff on this hotel for excellent service, making our stay and vacation enjoyable.

“A hotel from a bygone age, 4* at a stretch but beautiful views in a prime location depending what you are looking for.”

We booked last minute for a long weekend as friends to seek respite from busy mum life, with sun sea and sand on the agenda. We settled for this hotel based on price, star rating, reviews and proximity to beach but with a pool. Whilst the welcome and staff have been very good and a 4* standard with lovely touches in the room such as wine and sweet treats; we feel the decor is dated and something from a bygone era, there is clear degradation of the property and the building and surrounding facilities all need a good touch up. The views are lovely too and as our booking said we do have a side sea view, thankfully ok the quieter side. Our big disappointment is the shared facilities, this hotel is not 4* when it comes to this (note also that Lastminute.com rates it as 5* 😔). MGM the hotel group have multiple properties of different ratings across the area of Albufeira and specifically within this side of the town (which btw is 18-30 and hen/stag territory). Breakfast, pools, bars and Restaurants within the hotel are basically the next door neighbours facilities ie the 3* properties - therefore the standard is lower. Ultimately it feels like we’ve paid for 4* room (which I would also challenge) and getting 3* facilities. There are no way near enough sun loungers with no one adhering to the sunbed policy of not reserving them. The pool which is supposedly Monicca’s is small and crammed against the side of the hotel, far from pleasing. Thankfully the saving grace is the lovely cove beach at the foot of the hotel with a chilled and peaceful beach cafe on site. This won it round for us but we won’t be booking this again.
