“Good hotel near the beach”

Recently stayed at the Paladim & Algoamar Hotel for three days and had a great time! This hotel is about 30 mins drive from Faro Airport and perfectly located in Albufeira. The beach and old town/strip are only a 10-15 min walk. I stayed in the Studio with Pool View. The room was very spacious. Extra pillows provided without having to ask was a nice touch. Full equipped with mini kitchen and fridge if you would like to do some light cooking. The room was exceptionally clean with a great view out onto the pool area. Rooms have air con, which is powerful. The terrace area is also very nice. All staff are very friendly and can speak English well. A special shout out to the young men in the restaurant. There is entertainment most nights so things can get a little loud but never stopped me from having a good nights sleep. I would also highly recommend the restaurant. I ate here twice as the food was so good, reasonably priced and authentic Portuguese. The restaurant serves until 11pm which was very convenient. The hotel also offers room service which has a reduced menu. I had a lovely stay here and would definitely return!

“Lovely hotel.”

We've just returned from the paladim hotel after spending a week there. Really enjoyed our stay here, we stayed in a pool facing room on the 2nd floor. We've just returned from the paladim hotel after spending a week there. Really enjoyed our stay here, we stayed in a pool facing room on the 2nd floor. The room was very spacious and well equipped for self catering, however tbh the room was quite dated decor wise which isn't a problem for us personally as we don't spend much time in it anyway. The aircon worked fine and was in both the living area and bedroom, which is good and we didn’t have to pay extra for it, which is always a bonus. The balcony is very long and plenty of space for most people. Beds were comfy but the pillows were a bit flat and could do with replacing. As for the pool area and bar area they're very good plenty of sunbeds and you don't need to go down early to put towels on because there's so many. Staff are all friendly and courteous. Location is ideal as it's almost equidistant to both the new town and the old town which is about a 20 minute walk if you're taking it steady. Opposite the hotel is the albufeira terrace shopping centre which is very reasonable for food and drink and any self catering stuff you might need, upstairs is a food hall including Mcds, burger king, pizza hut and an assortment of other decent eating places. A little tip! If you go upto the eating hall there's a little bar on the right side of the hall the 1st one you'll come to and a pint of the local beer called super bock is only £1.50 and at the back of the food hall is a massive terrace outside with seating where you can eat Al-fresco and great sea views so well worth a visit. All in all we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay here again.

We chose these apartments based on location as it is in the middle of the old town and new town approx 15 mins walk each way.we had a one bed apartment on the first floor facing the pool. The apartments are a good self catering base and right next to supermarket with everything you need even a food court with roof top terrace with had amazing views. The apartments itself was clean but bit dated decor which wasn't a problem for us only gripe was I would of liked a tv in the bedroom but wasn't a necessity. The balcony was very big and looked onto the pool which we thought was great until the seagulls arrived every morning making a lot of noise and built nest on our balcony literally never got to sit out because the seagulls were constantly flying onto it all day every day. The pool area was nice and clean which we only went down once as there is so much to see and do in Albufeira. The beds are very hard but didn't bother me overall we had a nice time but would chose old town next time as we spent most of our time walking back and forth to old town. We did do tuk tuk couple of nights with cost 10euros and fun to do.

Weeks stay in room 306 which was top floor. Nice big apartment with decent sized kitchen and bedroom. Air con both rooms. Good size veranda with table and chairs. Decor in room and throughout hotel a bit dated, but kept clean by staff. Daily room service. Pros Situated about half way between old town and strip. Both areas walkable 10 to 15 mins. 2 supermarkets within 150m of Hotel. 2 pools, restaurant and bar area. Staff very good, English spoken by all. Beds very good slept well. TV had main BBC and ITV channels. Cons Only 1 key card issued for room, also card had to be used in room power switch, a bit inconvenient at times. Room door was not self closing therefore NOT a FIRE DOOR. Some customers seemed to think slamming doors shut in wee small hours was a good sport. Odd smell in bathroom, do not think drains, possibly connected with the largest cockroach I have ever seen scuttling in below the WC pan. Kept lights on in bathroom to keep him undercover. Did kill a couple of smaller ones in bathroom. Microwave in room looked awful, case cracked round door and door switch cracked. Should be dumped and replaced. Kitchen units had different colour doors, possibly by design but took away from the look. Some cracked and distressed floor and wall tiles in rooms, bathroom suite showing its age, guess management need to think about some modernisation. Feelings Hotel does not have the feel of a 4 star, dark corridors, dark reception area, floor standing signs littered at front entrance and in reception for the evening entertainment. Shop fronts either side of entrance were oppresive. A bit untidy and unwelcoming in my view. Biggest gripe, the noise at night, although we had a room in the pool side and away from the main road, there are flats and access road behind hotel. Locals have very noisy motor bikes. The Hotel itself puts on entertainment every night, sometimes as late as 1.00am. Even on top floor it intrudes. Overall we had a nice stay, doubt we will return however, Albufeira itself is not for us now the drunken groups of youngsters (and some older ones) have made it a party destination.
