“Calm and relaxing place in Olhão.”

Good rooms, amazing view, everything well preserved and good breakfast. Good for couples that want a place to relax and enjoy nature. +/- 5kms from Olhão city center. It was a little bit difficult to found at the beggining but it was worth it.

A wonderful place, peaceful and pleasant. We had one of the log cabins situated around the pool and it was just the ticket. A wonderful place, peaceful and pleasant. We had one of the log cabins situated around the pool and it was just the ticket. The cabin consisted of a small living room where the tv is, the bedroom and the bathroom as well as a small terrace overlooking the pool. Airconditioning worked very well. Breakfast was served on a large terrace in the main building/reception area. The garden is very well maintained with luscious plants and flowers everywhere. We were not far from a plethora of places to visit. A lovely stay.

We chose the Quinta Saleiro because we were looking for a quiet but tasteful country house for our stay in February. We were aware that you needed a car and we like rural, so no complaints about the location (make sure you come from the right direction to avoid the dirt track). From the pictures I had thought you could go for walks from the lower part of the property itself, but you can't, it's a vegetable plot. The terrace, pool area and house look as pretty as on the website and upon our arrival we received a very friendly welcome from the owner and Sra. Ana, who looked after us well, serving a delicious breakfast with fresh fruit, lovely bread and croissants and orange juice on the terrace every morning. My husband got scrambled eggs and for me (vegan) they had arranged to have soy milk available, for which I am very grateful. Still, overall, we were a little bit disappointed. Our room was big and clean and thankfully it had air condition that could be used for heating, as it was a bit cold. The bathroom is nicely done but it was very cold - maybe an infrared heater would be a solution for the winter months? One of the appealing things in the pictures was the nice sitting area in the building - we thought this was the place we would sit in the evenings, but we were the only guests and it was far too cold to sit there. Had there been a fire lit, it would have made a big difference, but it probably isn't worth their while for just one occupied room. This meant once we were back we could just sit on the bed (just one chair in the double room) and read or look at the tiny tv in the opposite corner, so we made sure to stay out as late as possible. While it is a pleasant enough place to stay, it was not quite what we had envisaged and in our opinion it is a bit overpriced for what you get (clean and basic B&B, same breakfast every morning). Why somebody would chose to stay in the wooden garden sheds called "chalet" is certainly beyond me. Still, overall it was ok, but I think if we ever were to go back, it would only be in the warmer period of the year.

We called ahead to book and were given a reservation. The reviews were glowing and the location very convenient to a party we were to attend. We called ahead to book and were given a reservation. The reviews were glowing and the location very convenient to a party we were to attend. We arrived at the quinta after a long day of driving and to our shock were shown a room that had all the charm of a broom closet. Its one small window gave onto the tractor shed with a high cinder block wall behind. The surly staff member insisted no other rooms were available. It was late and we were tired but I find it inexcusable that we were given a room unfit for guest acommodation. Never again. Also cold and charmless. Could be a motel anywhere, not in the beautiful Algarve. Beware.
