The location is superb and very quiet. Our room was very adequate and even had a little balcony overlooking the old wall. The bathroom looked as though it was quite new. Everybody was helpful and they even did a load of washing for us (small charge). We extended our stay by an extra night as we felt so comfortable. If travelling with a car the street parking is difficult but directly behind (on the other side of the old city wall) is a massive free public car parking area, that is literally 200 metres away and so easy to get in & out of without having to necessarily negotiate the very narrow yet charming streets of Lagos.

“What a delightful place in Lagos.”

Loved Lagos so decided to stay an extra night. Loved this place. Wish we would have stayed here instead of our first choice for 3 nights. Owner, Carmen Maria is the sweetest old lady. Room was big and clean. Again, we loved Lagos, and will return someday.

Rooms in Lagos in August generally run for over $200. This is one of those quartos (rooms) for rent, and thus substantially cheaper. We had a family room which only cost 100 Euro. I had low expectation given the price being much cheaper, but it was better than I had expected. Pros: - Location is very good, 9 minutes walk to Lagos bus station (warning: lots of uphill on cobblestones), <5 min to town center (Praca Gil Eanes). - Room is decent size. We are a family of 4, the room had a full size bed, a twin size bed, and a bunk bed. So, larger than expected. - There is a kitchen and a terrace for the guests to share. So there are actually 4 families. Got to meet some other travelers from other countries. - The hostess was nice, though practically speaks no English, but she's friendly. Cons: - Our room, though has a private bath, it's outside of the room in the hallway, but the hallway is shared with others. Although this happens to be the configuration of our room, others do seem to have private bath in their room. - The bath towels are pretty thin. And our shower drain was pretty clogged. - WIFI seems to be off during most of the day, only available in the morning and in the evening. - I suspect that A/C might be automatically shut down at night. On both nights that we stayed, it got shut down and I am not sure how it happened. But then I woke up in the middle of the night and turned AC back on. With the price being half that of anything else I can find in Lagos, it was a fine stay. The location is really great. The benefit of having a kitchen means that we bought seafood (barnacles, razor clams, etc) from local supermarket and eat really really well.

We arrived to find that the little old lady that runs it (granny) is lovely and friendly but only speaks French or Portuguese. The room was clean and fresh towels were provided. We didn't get them replaced during our stay but if you ask granny she is happy to change them. The kitchen is shared as is the outside space. We had an ensuite shower and toilet which was clean but the light is on. 30 second timer! This meant that when showering, you have to keep opening the door to the shower to get the light back on. It was quiet most days we stayed but I can imagine that if it's busy, having the room at the back of the house, as we did, could be frustrating as it backs onto the shared outside space where the BBQ is. I would recommend this place if you are looking for a cheap place to sleep but don't intend to spend much time there. We used the kitchen once or twice and it was fine but if you have the oven on and the hob, the power trips out. Overall I would stay here again as it was clean and granny was really accommodating :)
