First the bad. The shine is starting to fade on the room that we were staying in. Stained soft furnishings in the lounge area. Stains on the grout. There were several towel peggers who would snag sunbeds and then disappear for an hour or so but to be fair, this is discouraged by the hotel and one member of staff did tell people not to do it. We arrived late morning and check in wasn’t supposed to be til 3 but the hotel has a locked room for luggage and our room was actually ready by 12 noon. Yes the pool is cold but it wasn’t too bad and yes the pool area is slippery when wet so be careful There was some noise from the room above when guests dragged furniture across the tiled floors but it wasn’t too bad. Ok, the good We loved the hotel. It was very clean and towels and bedding were changed daily if you wanted it. We didn’t because we wouldn’t do that at home and we weren’t spending much time on the beach. Hotel Staff were great. I found them all to be very helpful and friendly. Especially the staff at the pool snack bar The snack bar food was very nice. I definitely recommend the mushroom curry. It got very hot under the umbrellas in the dining area but they were happy to give us takeout to eat in the room We had an east facing apartment on the second floor. It overlooked the National Park area which meant that we had a great sunrise view from the balcony And it has aircon. By god we needed that 😀 The lounge area was big enough for us with a small dining table and 4 chairs. the kitchen area was decent. It looks small on the photo but it was big enough for me. Fridge, kettle, coffee maker, toaster, microwave and small hob. We didn’t use the microwave or hob though. It was good enough for 2 people self catering The bedroom was a decent size and the wardrobe big enough for us. Bathroom had a bath with a shower over it which was good enough Once we got out onto the beach I couldn’t believe how peaceful it was. Near silent. And you could get a good sunset view from the beach too The hotel was the last one on the strip but it was still close enough to town for wandering to the shops Overall, we’d definitely come back here

We are just back from this aparthotel.I am at a loss as to why there are so many negative reviews.We booked last minute and were pleasantly surprised.Rooms are large.Spotlessly clean and have ample storage.Pool area beautiful and a plus is the private gate to the beach.Yes the pool is cool but you are on the Atlantic Coast.Sea temp was lovely once you were in.Beach was immaculate and very well served with life guards.Lots of lovely beach bars as well.We thought Monte Gordo was lovely.Typically Portuguese compared to other Algarve resorts.So if you are looking for Scottish or English bars and restaurants this is definitely not for you.Will definitely be back.

I booked three nights here with the option to extend. I didn't end up doing that. My apartment was great, the view and the surroundings were all wonderful. But for me, the hotel was far too noisy. There were apparently several groups of young people running around the hallways shouting all the time, and during the day there was a lot of banging (renovation work is necessary, of course), noisy cleaning carts, and slamming doors. This might also be due to the hotel's interesting architecture – everything echoes quite a bit inside, as it's open in the middle. Perhaps it doesn't bother others, and I'm a bit older myself, but still, it's a good hotel! Maybe I just had the wrong fellow guests.
