We stayed at Casa Vela for 2 nights and had a wonderful stay. It was a beautiful hotel with a comfortable common room area filled with original oil paintings. Breakfast was great and the sauna was fantastic. Cheila at the front desk was very helpful in providing us with whatever we needed and many suggestions for places to visit.

We had a wonderful stay at this charming old villa, surrounded by a beautiful, slightly wild garden that felt like something out of a fairytale. The atmosphere was incredibly romantic, with a peaceful, almost magical vibe throughout the property. The location is perfect—tucked away in a quiet and safe neighborhood, yet just a short walk from the center of Cascais. It offered the best of both worlds: tranquility and convenience. The staff were exceptionally warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Breakfast was delicious, with a great selection, and we absolutely loved the "honest bar"—such a sweet and thoughtful touch. And of course, we can’t forget Vela, their adorable resident cat, who made our stay even more special. Highly recommend for couples or anyone looking for a unique and cozy place to stay in Cascais!

“Garden of Eden with great service and facilities”

What a lovely place. Beautiful grounds, with plush gardens and water features. A couple of small pools with just the right amount of sun loungers/chairs. No need to be reserving! What a lovely place. Beautiful grounds, with plush gardens and water features. A couple of small pools with just the right amount of sun loungers/chairs. No need to be reserving! Only 12 min stroll to either the town or marina. All staff were very helpful and responsive to requests and on arrival also provided with a personal guide around the property showing the amenities. The room had all the usual amenities with daily housekeeping and a balcony/terrace overlooking the gardens and water features. A garden/pool bar with service was a great touch. We will be returning!

Lovely hotel, although rooms can vary within one category. Stayed for 4 nights in a Superior room with Kitchenette. First room we were given was OK, but you had to go to the small iron balcony via your bathroom. The balcony just about had room for a small table and 2 chairs. It was my birthday during our stay, so we wanted our stay to be special (I'd emailed and booked well in advance to ensure the hotel was aware). So we asked to move to a different room. 2nd had large terrace with room for table and chairs and sun loungers much better. Although still a little disappointing that the hotel didn't assign us the 4 poster room which is the one they send a picture of - so be aware, your room may differ greatly. We liked the breakfast and the 'honesty' bar and use of the lounge area in the main house. The location was good - much nicer to be a little out of town - but the surrounding construction noise wasn't good - be aware there are building works almost everywhere in Cascais so finding a hotel in a truly tranquil location is probably impossible at the moment. A few things that could be improved to be a truly Boutique hotel - some decent toiletries in the bathroom, not just soap and shower gel - hand/body lotion, proper shampoo and conditioner should be provided. Towels should be fluffy (not ones that look like they've been used for years). As the kitchenette rooms have a kettle etc then milk should be provided in the fridge. Also pool is freezing - too cold to get in and flies around the 'heated' pool make it impossible to stay there - maybe the garden could do with a good prune every where. Finally we were not informed that a Yoga studio was under construction in the hotel grounds - might have been nice to be warned.
