1. Location Excellent. The hotel is very well located near the coastal area, surrounded by beautiful natural scenery. The environment is peaceful, spacious, and ideal for a relaxing stay. 2. Cleanliness Outstanding. Everything was impeccably clean, with no trace of dirt or clutter. The rooms were spotless, well organised, and perfectly maintained. Absolutely nothing to criticise in terms of hygiene. 3. Staff The staff were friendly, attentive, and always available to help. All interactions were positive, and there was nothing unpleasant to point out regarding the team. 4. Facilities The hotel has ample space, good parking, and electric vehicle chargers — a great advantage for us as a family. Overall, the facilities were excellent. 5. Breakfast Very good, consistent with what we expect from Vila Galé hotels in Portugal. Although the variety is not huge, everything offered was of excellent quality. The breakfast area was extremely clean, well organised, and pleasant. 6. Spa & Pool Area The spa is very pleasant, with a good jacuzzi, steam bath, and sauna. However, the highlight in terms of views is the pool area — not the spa or sauna. The pool is large and spacious, providing a beautiful view over the surrounding nature. There are plenty of sun loungers, allowing guests to relax and enjoy both the pool itself and the landscape. We did not try the massages, but the spa facilities were spotless and well maintained. Overall Impression I definitely recommend this hotel. It is a great choice for families and provides high-quality facilities throughout. 8. Price The only drawback is the price. Although it is a good hotel, I feel that the cost is a bit too high for the type and category of the hotel. The value for money is slightly unbalanced. As a family of four, we also had to book two separate rooms, which made the total cost even higher. It would be a great improvement if the hotel offered family rooms or connecting rooms.

Excellent Location: The hotel is conveniently situated near Sintra's main attractions, making it a great base for exploring the area. ​Good Breakfast: Guests enjoyed the breakfast buffet, which offered a good variety of options. ​Family-Friendly: The hotel is accommodating to children, which is a plus for families traveling with kids. ​Spacious Rooms: The rooms are a good size, providing ample space for guests to relax. ​Cold Outdoor Pool: Despite being summer, the outdoor pool water was cold due to strong winds in the area, making it difficult to use. ​Unpleasant Odor: There was a persistent sewage smell from the room's toilet in the mornings, which was a significant issue for guests.

More of a "ok 4 stars" than a 5 stars. This hotel is a huge resort with hundreds rooms, in different building (rooms and flats). Summary if you dont want to read my entire review : huge, very noisy rooms - you hear everything, but great for kids, inefficient staff, not very clean, it has some splendid views to Pena castle and sintra village and 3 nice pools outside, 1 indoor pool heated of 25m, a kid pool with slides, indoor, it is very well equipped for kids, with a trampoline park, a carousel and daily activities, great place for kids and get the sun. The gym is really tiny for a place of that size, but has a good but very limited choice of machines, only 1 treadmill for exemple. Corridors are carpeted, but were constantly dirty, despite cleaning staff running around. Our check in experience was on the very bad side, arrived at 15h30, NB: Vila Gale members can have early check in way before 15h00, even at the official check in time our room wasn't readywe got offered drinks to make us wait, and got our room at 17h30, but by then the bell boy had already "left" so we schlepped ourselves our luggages. We found a room with a floor covered of crumbles, no cleaning staff could have missed it, disgusting. Back to reception to ask them to complete the cleaning, and after a pool session we returned and couldn't enter the room anymore, as after the cleaning our keys have been de activated.... Took us from 15h30 to 18h30 to properly set in the room #417. On the bright side, the hotel managers reached out to us to compensate us for the check in situation, he clearly stated none of the issues should have happened. The reception staff is super professionnal and at the level of a 5stars. This was our only highlight here. All night we could hear our neighbours next room talking, paper thin walls. We had a family room, it is looking on the back, not the gorgeous views to Sintra and its castle, for this you must book either a standard or a suite, and I do believe the view is worth paying for. The room size was fairly big, circa 25sqm, but the bathroom ensure 0 privacy, toilets are closed by a glass shower cabin door, which doesn't reach the ceiling. Breakfast isn't of 5 stars level neither, the buffet is very large, but the quality of the baked goods is bad, tasteless, often too sweet,the coffee is not worth mentioning, just the juices are the positive item. There is show cooking, which I didn't try. And the fresh fruits were basic ones. Pros : the views from standard and suite type rooms. The kids club is super, the pools, the scenic and countryside location, nice balcony's and good room size. Cons: paper thin walls you hear everyone and anyone next to your room talking and chatting. Property is huge, far too big, too many people, few lifts. Bathrooms are miserable. Maintenance and cleanliness are a real issue, corridors are lithered, rooms furniture's shows tear and wear in places showing they aren't taken care off. Breakfast buffet is not of good quality. Overall not a 5 stars by no mean. If it isn't for the kids club, there's no reason to come here, despite the beautiful surroundings and great views, the total absence of room sound proofing is unbearable, so is the lack of cleanliness in the rooms and corridors, no one is cleaning them. I have no idea how this venue is listed as 5 stars, as a comparison the Vila Gale in Elvas is listed as a 4 stars and is much better.
