“Laid back”
Very friendly staff can’t do enough for you, we stayed B&B which is just right loads of places near by to eat and drink, had dinner one night at the hotel which had a good selection, first time in Madeira but won’t be the last, if you get. A chance visit the Lido bar up the hill excellent

“Good stay overall”
Hotel was generally good. We booked a classic room which was good value and had a sea view. Note that this is sort of in the basement directly on the promenade and therefore metal shutters are required for security at night. Beds were on the firm side and sink was small.
