An amazing hotel full of charm. All the staff are fantastic, from reception, housekeeping, restaurant and pool - no names for fear of missing someone out. We were half board and the food was really good. The buffet breakfast offered just about every choice from fruit and cerals, cooked and cold european to amazing pastries and cakes. The Evening meals were varied using local produce and good protion sizes. We never felt rushed and always had excellent recommendations for the wine, which we felt was reaonable priced. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the gardens. Real spacious, very comfortable with all amenities that we needed. The pool is very clean and always fresh towes available. The pool bar was a delightful place to have a drink after our meal and chat to other guests The shuttle bus was very convenient and we booked tours which picked us from the hotel at weekends. Some great recommendations from the rection staff as to what to do and see. As it is not a chain, but a family hotel we felt valued and cared for throughout our stay. We thouroughly recommend this as a great base for a peaceful holiday in Maderia.

“5 star tranquility at its best”

Quinta da Bela Vista is set in an area of total tranquility and this is obvious as soon as you approach the sweeping drive with a fountain outside its main entrance because you get a sense of stillness. The Reception Team - Paula, Ricardo, Luis and Daniel (apologies for not mentioning other members of the team whom I talked to, I forgot to make a note of your names) were genuinely welcoming and each had the most friendliest of smiles from Moses (the driver who picked me up from and to the airport) to the restaurant staff (who remembered my room number after my 1st day). I had a beautiful room with a balcony from which you could see a few stunning mountain views of Funchal as well as some of the hotel’s well maintained gardens. The facilities could not be faulted: Avista Navios & Piano Bar where I had an excellent four-course meal; Quinta Bela Vista restaurant (Manor House) for a more refined fine dining experience (and even as a solo guest, I did not feel out of place) and then there was the Pool Bar & Casinha de Prazeres - here you could chill, drink eat and take in the surrounding mountain views. It was a sheer delight being served by Mohamed - his enthusiasm for serving guests could not be faulted as it was evident that he wanted to provide the best service as possible (as did the rest of the staff). Other facilities included a swimming pool, a tennis court, sauna and jacuzzi (which you could have to yourself), a gym, yoga class and a courtesy mini bus. Getting out and about was not an issue as there was a mini bus shuttle service, taxi's could be booked by the Reception Team and we must not forget Uber. I highly recommend this hotel and would happily stay there again.

The location is circa ten minutes from main thoroughfare and readily accessible by courtesy bus, public transport or taxi. The atmosphere is peaceful and slow moving. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the feel of the hotel is genuine. With regard to value , we ate in the poolside bar on a couple of occasions and the food and service was top notch. My one gripe would be the cost of a drink compared to the other locations and should be addressed. Other than that , we thoroughly enjoyed the hotel and staff are a credit to the establishment
