I was requested to vist this hotel to acertain the suitabliity for elderly customers. The plus side was the ease of traversing around the hotel including two lifts. I advised the hotel when booking I had poor mobility with walking, but on arrival was allocated the room furthest from the lifts and exits. The room does not contain any information about facilities or local attractions, as most do. I did find an obscure QR code for some type of food. The bedroom was large and clean with a good bed. However the shower controls would be difficult for elderly visiters as the temperature flutuated and went very hot. A good size tv was opposite the bed. But there was only one plastic chair, that was uncomfortable and cold to sit on. The breakfast was as expected with bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, cerials, bread, cheese, jams etc. the fresh orange machine was good. The big downside was the 24hr free drinks machine. The drinks were excellent flavours, but the only drinking vessal was a small cardboard type cup, which when filled by the machine with boiling water for tea, or coffee came to the top. When you picked it up to carry ,it collapsed and caused water to spill over the side, I even tried two together and it was not much better, (very unsafe for elderly hands that often shake). The hotel is over the main busy road from the city, so is difficult for elderly to transverse, and although as advised was only 15mins at most to the main shopping area, this is not the case with poor mobility. No public transport is available near the hotel. Taxis would be around 4 to 6 euros. Parking in the hotel car park is extra around 6 euros per day.
