“Comfortable hotel”

Well located hotel. The attention for the check-in was quick and efficient. The room and the bathroom were fine. Excellent breakfast at the terrace, you can choose coffee and toast or full breakfast. Near the beach.

I stayed here for almost three weeks during the Covid19 period. First of all the staff were absolutely brilliant at accommodating the guests through such a difficult time. The front desk were so friendly and helpful. Rooms were kept very clean and I liked how everything was simple but worked in the room. I was cycling most days and the location and facilities for doing this type of trip were great. Thanks again to all the staff and the front desk for making my stay so enjoyable.

“Fanatastic hotel”

The hotel was very close to the waterfront - the service was excellent - bedroom was delightful along with the ensuite. Staff were amazing - our first stay at this hotel, although we’ve been coming to La Herradura for over 15 years, will definitely stay here again. Great hotel.

My wife and I stayed at the Almijara Hotel for one week (17th - 24th October). We were influenced on our choice of hotel by the comments on trip advisor. The trip advisor comments regarding standards of cleanliness, convenience to bus stop, location, value for money fast wifi and friendliness of staff all lived up to expectation. Prior to travelling to Spain we emailed the hotel and requested a room on the 4th floor. As we were arriving late at night we wished to ensure that we would have input to the allocated room. Our request was actioned and we were allocated a room on the 4th floor with a balcony which had a view of the beach and mountains. There is a rooftop sun terrace on the 5th Floor which gives a panoramic view of the area. Breakfast choice of hot items is a little limited but we were able to get by. The coffee is excellent. Apart from breakfast we ate out locally. There are a large number of local restaurants offering a wide variety of culinary choices.. Tapas was freely available in all bars. The hotel does not have a swimming pool but the beach is 100 metres away. The beach is clean and uncrowded but is volcanic sand and shingle. La Herradura was a picturesque fishing village which has expanded but would not be considered “touristy” Use of Spanish phrases is appreciated by the locals. There is a tourist information centre in the the town close to the beach. The centre staff speak English and are very helpful. To watch English Premier League football make your way to El Salon bar which is about 20 yards from the hotel. A warm welcome is guaranteed from Antonio and the staff as well as the best tapas in La Herradura. We used local bus transport to visit Nerja, Almunecar, and Granada. The bus to Granada is less than 14 euros return and passes close to the spectacular Sierra Nevada Mountains on its way to Granada. With its Islamic history, Granada old city area has a mix of Spanish and Arabic cultures and the Alhambra Castle and fortress in the old city is spectacular. All in all the Almijura Hotel La Herradura is an ideal location to experience local Spanish hospitality and visit a scenic area of Spain.
