Hotel Riviera - Adults Recomended

“Ok, but!!”

A good hotel. Great food. Poolside ok - if you get there early enough. Only complaint being the wifi, which drafts in and and out. Couldn't use it on my Kindle - why not ?? Evening entertainment poor, or non existant

“Beautiful Modern Hotel in a great location.”

First time to this hotel and it didnt disappoint,great location 10 min from the Marina. We had a lovely large modern room on the 7th floor with a great view,tea,coffee maker. First time to this hotel and it didnt disappoint,great location 10 min from the Marina. We had a lovely large modern room on the 7th floor with a great view,tea,coffee maker. Elevator down to the sea front was a big bonus.Staff were friendly and Spa was fabulous, big shoutout to the 2 staff on duty there, I had 2 treatments and they were amazing highly recommend.Pool area was beautiful and relaxing, I loved the chill music theme.I would loose the spend 85.00 euro on food and drink to use the soft sun longers as no one was making use of them.Maybe a flat fee would be more appropriate.Breakfast was decent with plenty of choice. Few things to look at, Entertainment was ok bit dull and information on hotel activies could be improved.Even a hotel book in the room with useful information on entertainment,local doctor etc would be helpful.We had a telephone in the room but it was not connected.Netflix was on telly but we couldnt connect to it.Would have loved a clear glass balcony as the frosted glass took away from fab view. Was most grateful for receptionst on early morning duty for getting us a taxi at last miniute when our driver failed to show for the airport run. Over all great stay will def be back.

“Right on the beachfront.”

“The Riviera can do better!”

Location: Absolutely fantastic, near the Promenade and bus stop. Easy to take local bus. Food: Not much options for Vegetarians. Mostly potato and grilled veg. One day Lasagne was there. Location: Absolutely fantastic, near the Promenade and bus stop. Easy to take local bus. Food: Not much options for Vegetarians. Mostly potato and grilled veg. One day Lasagne was there. May be segregation of Vegetarian dishes and making a separate counter will be added advantage for Vegetarians as they don't have keep looking and asking for dietiery menu and search for it. Keeping grilled veg /potatoes in front of fish and meat grill pan is probably something they should not be doing. As I watched the juices of meat and oils from grills fell right on to the pasta and grill veg. Something to consider for a segregation please. Water is charged at 3€ for dinner. Usually tap water must be free. Ofcourse they don't charge this for breakfast. Reception and Dining team are excellent. May be Mr Jose (front desk) needs some training - he portrayed williful behaviour to ignore us, seemed disinterested and spoke unprofessionally, every time we approached the desk. But saying that, rest of the team is excellent. Room - stayed at room no 615. Part sea view. If we take the seat at the balcony it's just opposite hotel/ carpark and road view. Chairs at the balcony are very uncomfortable and not suitable for longer periods of sitting. Definitely not suitable for larger and disabled people. Probably provide larger chairs or beach /sundeck chairs. Bathroom doesn't have bath stool. Though there is cane stool but not suitable for bathing. Most people are elderly who visit, therefore this could be a good add on. Dust - the cleaning team would have just done the room, in seconds you will find the floor filled with dust, without the balcony door opened and Aircon not operating. Wonder why there is so much dust coming through the Aircon duct. Definitely a trigger for Asthma patients. Hopefully the hotel will check this issue. Last time we had a full sea view and was amazing, but this time the room being near the road, the road noise was disturbing at night. If you are choosing, ask for room towards the back of the building. Wellness: Amazing therapies by Caroline. We did a few of them and must say Caroline is amazing and treatments were very effective. Nice swimming pool and close to beach. Overall it was a good stay. This is our second time. Will come back! Hopefully by then hotel would have incorporated the suggestions. Thank you again! We have visited this hotel many times over the past ten years. It’s always been a favourite due to its location and excellent staff. Staff are friendly, helpful and courteous . We were looking forward to the refurbishment, but were disappointed. The refurbishment is mostly cosmetic, with lots of modern furniture and lamps and a hundred books! The modern furniture looks very pleasing but the green metal terrace chairs and hard and are not at all comfortable. The bedroom floors have thankfully been re done and are no longer creaky and squeaking and are a nice warm wood colour. However, the corridors are the same scuffed grey paint and old grey carpet. Room for improvement in the corridors. The bathrooms are the old fittings and tiles, just new taps and mirrors. The old balconies haven’t been upgraded, which lets the exterior down in its sixties style. If you are sitting on the hard upright chairs on the balcony you can’t see the sea as you are still looking through grey glass panels. Other hotels on either side have updated to clear glass with a modern feel. The mood music would cut your hair, it’s awful. Everyone complained about it. The food is mostly good. Many complaints about no teapots at breakfast which means you’ve to keep going back to queue for a refill. The rooms are now priced according to their position and charged as such. The evening meal has changed to 7.30 and has caused long queues to get in to the dining room. If it were 6.30 as previously, it would alleviate queues and stagger the amount of people arriving at 7.30. Dining room is usually empty by 9, though does not close till 10pm. We still love the hotel, just disappointing that the refurbishment is mostly cosmetic. Will we return……probably, though we felt they wanted a much younger, wealthier clientele.
