Been holidaying here for the past few years and we love it. I have a young son who goes to kids club each year for a few days and always has such a good time, so many activities, the staff are so friendly and welcoming, especially Silvia who I have seen on many occasions, the staff there are such an asset to the resort. “First holiday with baby”

We visited the Wyndham Grand as our first holiday with our 8 month old baby. We opted for breakfast included and liked the fact that we had kitchen facilities for flexibility with lunch and dinner. We stayed in the Santa Cruz block. Local area: We hired a car. Like most reviews state, this is a must unless you are happy to stay on site as it is in a remote area. We visited Mijas Pueblo for dinner one evening which was well worth a visit. We also drove to Malaga which was 40 minutes away. We went to Cabopino marina which was nearby but we didn’t think this was worth the journey for us with a baby as the marina wasn’t very interesting and the boardwalk along the beach, although very beautiful, was too exposed to the sun and not varied enough for us with our baby. I would have loved to have sunbathed and visited a beach restaurant there. Hotel positives: - Clean apartment with well appointed kitchen and bathrooms (two toilets, two showers and a bath). We made use of the dishwasher and washing machine and detergent was provided. - The shutters outside the bedroom window are electronic and kept the bedroom completely dark! - Separate bedroom to living space so that baby could nap. - For breakfast you could order a ‘main item’ like full English, eggs and salmon etc, and then there was a good buffet spread of fruits, drinks, cheese and meats, cereals, pastries etc. - Staff were very friendly to our baby. - The pool doesn’t open until 9am and there wasn’t a mass rush for sun beds. Still, if you wanted a sun bed at midday you’d find it hard to find any. - A heated pool was lovely for baby although it was very busy with children jumping in and out. - We had a balcony over looking the pool and restaurant with a lovely sea view in the distance. Initially I was worried about noise but the evening entertainment didn’t seem to run too late. We could hear the entertainment in the living space but due to the layout of the apartment the sound didn’t travel to the bedroom. - The beach is accessible by tunnel and is a 15-ish minute walk. Yes, there are nicer beaches around, like Cabopino, but it’s convenient. - Tots and Toddlers was a cute play room which offered a safe and shaded space for our baby to play. - Quick responses from hotel staff e.g when we requested a high chair and when we had a problem with our lights. - Flying Pizza delivery was tasty and convenient. - Hotel shop was well stocked. We did a supermarket trip at the beginning and topped up as needed if we were missing anything/ wanted anything else. Hotel feedback/ things to be aware of: - Despite requesting one with our booking, there wasn’t a travel cot when we arrived. We requested one at reception along with a high chair and both arrived very quickly. - The high chair we were given wasn’t really size appropriate for our 8 month old (too big). The high chairs at the restaurant were much better. - Only three high chairs at the Safari restaurant meant one breakfast there wasn’t one available. As a big family resort they should have more. - We experienced some anti-social behaviour in the night time including some very loud shouting and, on one evening, the people beneath us with an outdoor hot tub were smoking cannabis. - The very very shallow pool which would have been best for baby wasn’t heated and therefore was too cold. - Some parents allowed their older children in the Tots and Toddlers play room, even though the signage clearly states the room is for 0-3 year olds with parental supervision. There are clubs and facilities for older children.

“Ideal Family Holiday”

Great facilities and pools, very large resort with something for everyone. Kids especially loved the kids club with Silvia- they said she was kind and funny and wanted to go everyday.
