The staff at reception were very welcoming and friendly. Appartment was very large,spacious and well equipped. Modern and clean. Our balcony had afternoon sun and was perfect for relaxing after a round of golf. We had meals I the hotel. Also excellent we did not do much else as it was a mini break mainly for golf but a car is pretty much essential I think.

Check in is too complicated in my opinion - took me 45 minutes to get the keys and I was the only guest who checked in. Its always a surprise that it happens so many times to me on this holiday that the staff/reception dont know which rooms are ready, clean or empty .... After we figured that out the key thing and the keything for the garage .... woozer ... make it easier please. Breakfast was included - its a breakfast room in the Ama Hotel - too loud and noisy and too busy for my liking.

I arrived at 10pm at the Ama Hotel reception, and they told me I had to go to another reception office. There, they informed me that a cold meal had been left for me - which was appreciated but it was too late to eat for me. I was then given key cards for apartment 175, a remote control for the parking, and instructions on where to park - which confused me and I ended up back at reception. I was then kindly escorted to the underground car park. The apartment was expansive, with all amenities to enable self catering (although I was half-board), but walking around in my bare feet, my soles of my feet became quite dirty, and after sweeping up I had to use a towel as mat to wipe my feet before getting into bed. The hand basin in the bathroom leaked from the waste pipe, and water poured onto the floor until I used a pan to catch it - this was fixed after I complained. Breakfast the first day was mediocre, but the fresh fruit was good. Several times over the first 2 days, I lost my way - there is very poor signage of where things are. The 2nd day while sat on the bed, I noticed something moving on the duvet - and it was a flea! I caught it and dropped it in a glass of water. I called reception to inform them, and after explaining what a flea was, they said they would send someone to clean the room - but isn't that what should have been done before I arrived? I wasn't at all happy about the response, so I walked to reception with the flea still swimming on the water in the glass. After telling the receptionist that I was not prepared to stay in apartment 175, they said they would clean 179 and I could move in there - which I did - without any offer of assistance, and no call back to see if everything was ok - which would really have been appreciated. For the meals, I had to walk over to the hotel, which had 2 small restaurants which fill up very quickly. The food is ok, but that is all - just ok. On the Saturday morning at 7:15 I noticed a slip of paper had been pushed under the door to say that the electricity was going to be cut off at 8am - only 45 minutes notice! Anyone waking up later would have no notice at all. First impressions count a lot for me, and this was poor - I can accept most things - but I won't tolerate the poor hygiene I experienced in apartment 175 (that's the reason for the cleanliness rating). And someone should have called me to ask if everything was ok after I'd moved apartments - that's basic consideration, and the reason for the service rating.
