Myself and my wife stayed in Es Convent d'Ariany for 5 nights recently, as we wanted to avoid high tourist areas. As we were travelling alone, without children (our first holiday without the children in 20 years!) we chose Es Convent d'Ariany as we felt it was catering more for couples. We had rented a car, and as all of the booking websites state, a car is a necessity when staying in Ariany, as it is quite remotely located, surrounded by spectacular countryside. The village of Ariany is very small, and has 2 small supermarkets (which close daily from approx 2pm-5pm), a Catholic church and a bar. The bedrooms are decorated in a modern style and are exceptionally clean. Each room includes a refrigerator, kettle and coffee machine, as well as air conditioning. Rooms are cleaned by very friendly housekeeping staff on a daily basis. The adjoining swimming pool is lovely, with breathtaking scenery over local farms. There are numerous restaurants located in the nearby towns of Petra, San Margalida and Inca. Whilst there is an on-site restaurant providing meals on Fridays and Saturdays, we didn't dine there. This is the perfect place to relax and experience the real Mallorca. It is quiet and even though it was July when we stayed, there were a few rooms unoccupied (I think). Es Convent d'Ariany is a gem of a place, and we would have no hesitation in recommending it. I feel it is more suited to couples without young children, owing to its peaceful and rural location.

“80th Birthday Celebrations”

We went here to celebrate my Dads 80th, we had the buffet and it was lovely. There was only us in the restaurant which made it even better. I am not sure what it would be like if the restaurant was full as I would image the Buffett would be quickly picked upon and the nice things taken

The apartment was smaller than I thought and not all appliances worked (the washing machine didn't work due to the fact that the door just couldn't be closed). The rooms were pretty humid and they had a mold smell. The cutlery definitely needs an upgrade. I really didn't like the curtains because you have only two options with this type of curtains: either you let them open and everyone who passes can see everything in your room or you keep them close and you don't have any natural light. The location is perfect if you want to enjoy your vacation in a quiet place, but keep in mind that you'll need a car. We've booked the Junior Suite apartment which came with a private terrace. The view from the terrace was nice but due to the fact that the apartment was situated at the ground level, everyone was passing by us, which was not very comfortable. There is a restaurant on-site where you can eat but it is a bit pricey, most probably due to the fact that there isn't much competition nearby. The design of the property is great. There is a pool area where you can take a swim, get a tan or just enjoy the views. The automated check-in is a plus.

This restaurant run by es convent is at santa magdalena hermitage, near Inca. A tremendous location over 500m high with the most stunning 360 views of Mallorca. The restaurant (open Friday to Sunday) is run by professionals from es convent, training young people who have some learning disabilities. It is modern design and very smart. We went for their buffet lunch which was amazing value €18.50 each which includes a bottle of wine for two. The food was delightful, beautifully prepared and very tasty. The salads were very well prepared and presented, the cheeses excellent. The main courses were duck cannelloni, baked fish with gren vegetables and chicken meat balls with prawns. The duck cannelloni was excellent and very meaty and fish very tender. Potatoes cooked and then baked with lemon was an excellent compliment. Postres or deserts were a sugar less chocolate mouse, and a very delicate mandarin topped mouse. The staff were very attentive, friendly and efficient. This is a place to go and support young people who are training to get a career, have very tasty food, enjoy the most spectacular views across the island and later enjoy the peace and tranquility in the chapel to apreciate how lucky we are. We shall definitely go again.
