“Great hotel!”

The hotel is a five star family friendly hotel. However, it caters for all ages. Quality of food and service is second to none! We must mention Mikki Servera for his excellent manner and service, always going above and beyond. He truly has a bright future ahead of him! Thanks for a great holiday!

“Great holiday but food/service could be improved”

Had a week long stay with our 4 year old. Overall we had a great, relaxing stay. However there are some things which could be improved around food and service. Pros: - Rooms are brilliant. Booked a one bed suite and it was a great size. Ground floor with large garden area, sun-beds and circular day bed, absolutely loved this. Great air con which was very quiet, good soundproofing and comfortable pull-out bed for my son. We all slept very well. Bathroom with window into bedroom is a little style over function - not ideal if you have teenagers but didn't bother us with a young child. - Entertainment - I think they have got this spot-on in terms of type of entertainment and timings. It is hard to please everyone but we all really enjoyed it (especially the illusionist and the bands). It felt very relaxed too and the drinks service was attentive. - Kid's club - our 4 year old loved the kids club and the ladies were great - really engaged with the children which we really appreciated. My son gave them all big hugs when he left and he also loved the Zafiro mascot koala. The indoor kid's club space is relatively small for the size of the hotel and could do with extending into the garden area a little (especially as it's too hot to do much outdoors - the kids struggled when taken to the tennis court in the heat!) - Breakfast at La Veranda was great rather than going to the buffet. Great setting, good menu and very relaxing. We really appreciated this option. Pools - Great pools with some quieter ones towards the back of the resort. Never felt overcrowded. Used our day bed rather than using sun loungers. Cons: - We were on half board basis but if we stayed again would go B&B. The a la carte restaurants (could go 4 times in a week) did not provide better quality food than the buffet. The buffet had lots of choice, but as vegetarians everything was undercooked (e.g. aubergine, paella etc) and tasted the same - far too much cheese on everything. Sadly the pizzas at the Italian restaurant were very poor. It would be great to have authentic pizza and wouldn't be difficult. - Service was mixed. Reception were friendly and helpful, entertainment and kid's club great. But some of the waitresses at the buffet weren't friendly. In fact on our first evening, one seemed disgruntled to be even taking our drinks order (we then had to chase our drinks). It was a bad first impression of the hotel. - Bill mistakes - it seems there are some guests who charge drinks to rooms other than theirs so do check your bill carefully! The hotel should implement a system for this, perhaps wrist bands or similar. Overall we had a nice holiday. We would stay again because the room was great, however we would go B&B and use our hire car to eat out in Pollensa etc. where we like the restaurants.

Stayed at the start of July for a week with my husband and two children aged 12 and 8. We enjoyed our stay, will list pros and cons. Pros Excellent for young children. My 8 year old loved the pools. He is autistic and really enjoyed the sensory side of the bubble and slides. Entertainment at night is great for kids, again my son really enjoyed this. Hotel is clean and spacious. Rooms are huge and very comfortable. We normally stay at ikos resorts and Zafiro definitely beats ikos in terms of room size. I loved the large balcony with daybed, the view was amazing (block 6, room 6204). Room very clean. Really close to the port, we only did b&b but there was so many restaurants close by. Also old town is only 5 mins in a taxi (€7) Cons Breakfast is nice but there were a few things that let it down. Hot English breakfast tea was awful! If you like tea in the morning bring your own tea bags. They only provide a hot water machine for making the tea at one side of the breakfast room, so if you aren’t placed near this you have a track to get it. They have two coffee stations to avoid this for coffee drinkers. Orange juice was poor quality, most mornings there was no Greek yogurt set out, only flavoured yogurt. Are lunch one day at the pool restaurant. Was over priced and poor quality. Sun loungers at pool are uncomfortable and too close together for my liking. Sun umbrellas are small and don’t bend or move in order to protect you from the moving sun light. Not ideal if you are someone who needs to protect yourself from too much sun, so I ended up going to my room most days to get shade. For a 5 star hotel the sun loungers should be of better quality. No bottled water in the rooms. Again would expect from a 5 star hotel that free bottled water is provided daily to rooms. They have a water machine beside all the lifts where you can fill up a jug that is left in the room, but I prefer bottles when on holidays. I would walk to the local shop to get this. Overall we really enjoyed our stay, if we didn’t have kids we wouldn’t return as it is definitely a family hotel, but our children loved it so much that we have booked for next June. This time we are going for a private pool room.
