Excellent holiday. Resort was amazing. Views and scenery beautiful. Hotel was perfectly situated. Food was outstanding. Entertainment was very enjoyable. Our member of the cleaning staff for our apartment went above and beyond for us. She was kind and friendly and very hard working. Tyler from the entertainment team was friendly, kind, knowledgeable and engaging. Tyler even took time out on his day off to make the effort to speak with our family. Sandra from the Lighthouse pub was friendly, kind and very efficient. She made us feel so welcome and as if we had known her for forever.

“The hotel that keeps on delivering!”

We have been coming to this wonderful hotel for more than ten years (ex Covid) and once again we were not disappointed. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by Tamara on reception who greeted us like old friends . Our room at the front of the hotel was kept spotless throughout our stay partly due to the efforts of Coral as well as others - thank you! We had an issue with the lock on our door around 21:00 hours one evening which was addressed by Claudia on reception who went above and beyond to remedy the situation. She was great!! The selection and quality of food this year seemed to be of a higher standard so congratulations to the Chef and his / her team. Also, thank you too, to Oscar and Yessica in the restaurant who were brilliant at their jobs, as ever. The hotel has invested in a new stage for the evening entertainment. It is certainly a talking point and, to my mind, a great addition. A special mention has to go to Christopher who is one of the lifeguards. He sits observing the pool for many hours a day, but on our last day he rescued a baby who inadvertently stepped into the large pool. He was poolside in a flash, acted swiftly and returned the child to its mother within seconds. Most people didn't notice, but he took it in his stride. Well done Christopher. There were a few days during our stay where there was an influx of visitors and securing a sunbed, or more importantly, a parasol for us shade bathers, became impossible. What is pleasing about this hotel though, is that the manager, (Sn. Moreno) who has been at the hotel for many years not only listens to feedback, but he takes action. When I raised the matter with him about the lack of parasols, he informed me that more parasols were on order. The good news with the Minura Hotel is that there is a second pool and bathing area (with shade) just outside the Oasis Cafe, which is also part of the hotel complex, where it was equally pleasant to relax. Finally, there is the Cala Galdana beach which is simply stunning! Thank you for a great holiday and we look forward to returning to this excellent hotel again.

“June Fortnight”

We stayed for two weeks in June and had a wonderful holiday. The team were all so helpful and efficient, could not fault them. Special mention to Santos who was so friendly and took fantastic stretching and aqua aerobic classes. The evening entertainment is fun and the bar team kept everything running smoothly. The pool was surprisingly warm and welcoming (main pool - we didn’t visit the oasis pool). We had problems with reserving sun beds during the first week. Some families leave their towels and disappear for the day. By the second week though (after some large family groups departed) there were no shortages and no early morning queues. The food is fantastic! We paid half-board and ate in the hotel every evening. We had a sea view room and it was clean and beds comfortable. One downside, there isn’t enough storage space in the rooms. The drawers are shallow and hanging space minimum. The room refurbishments have not taken into account the practical uses for guests. Take some packing cubes and place them on the shelf above the hanging rails. Also, we felt supplying a few coffee sachets as a welcome gift, not to be replenished during our stay, was a little bit mean. The gym and jacuzzi area needs some investment. The location is excellent and we love Cala Galdana. Overall we had a fantastic holiday - thank you team!

“Average 4* hotel”

Arrived back yesterday after 10 nights at the Minura Cala Galdana. We had booked a 1 bed apartment but were upgraded on arrival to a 2 bed apartment. Arrived back yesterday after 10 nights at the Minura Cala Galdana. We had booked a 1 bed apartment but were upgraded on arrival to a 2 bed apartment. Our apartment no. 1018 was located in the village area, above the jewellery shop and Bona Vida restaurant (more on that later)! Up quite a few stairs which as someone else mentioned, with a young one and all that comes with it (3 x suitcases) is a struggle. The apartment was very spacious with a large open plan lounge kitchen, 2 bedrooms, both en-suite with bath & shower. Although the rooms have clearly undergone some renovations in recent years, the bathrooms were obviously scrimped on; the tiles and baths have just been painted over. Meaning that during our stay, paint was constantly peeling from the bath tubs and the surrounds when washing. This is also not helped by the fact that our cleaning lady had a propensity for just spraying pure bleach into the baths and not rinsing! Luckily I noticed this on the first day and was able to rinse both bath tubs out myself before running a bath for my 2 year old! Additionally, the location of our apartment was not ideal with a young child. Every other night there would be a live musician stood literally under my childs window performing until 10pm. The rooms do have very good blackout blinds though so light pollution was not an issue - just noise! Breakfast was plentiful with a great selection and the wait staff work very hard to clear tables promptly. Despite being Half Board, we only ate at the hotel twice for dinner as there are so many nice restaurants located in Cala Galdana (I have been visiting the area with family for 28 years). Dinner was ok - good choice but samey and your average hotel buffet stuff. Nothing to set the world alight and we've definitely had better. We never used the main pool; seeing people queue for beds as early as 07:30am when the pool doesn't open til 09:00am is somewhat pathetic and I am ashamed to say it was always the Brits doing this. Instead we opted for the smaller pool in the village area as we were able to get a sunbed at any time of day and it was much quieter, although this pool doesn't open until 10am (and don't you dare arrive at 09:55 as the lifeguard will tell you there's no reserving of sunbeds - even though we never "reserved" them, we always stayed at the pool once we'd arrived and then took our towels away when we were finished)! Pool a lovely temperature with a separate (all be it small) kids section. The only issue with this pool is, during our stay local kids or kids from other areas (or maybe even the staff's kids?) were able to use the pool and some afternoons it became overrun with unsupervised groups of Spanish children. Whilst the attending lifeguards did their best to nullify any overtly boisterous behaviour, I'm not sure how you can police the use of this pool as Minura guests and your average person from the street cannot be distinguished (no wristbands etc). Whilst brown Minura branded pool towels are provided to guests, obviously you don't have to use them. The clientele was mostly over 50's, with a few younger families but they/we were definitely in the minority. There is very little for children at this hotel (no kids slides, playpark etc) so for that reason combined with some of the others mentioned we probably wouldn't return. Cala Galdana however, is and will always be a favourite destination of ours purely for the magnificent beach (the best in the Med in my opinion).
