Had a fantastic stay last week, overall the hotel was superb and spotless. The staff were all amazing and worked so hard. They need more staff behind the bars as the staff were run off their feet as it is a big hotel. The food was of good standard, plenty of chice. Ttypical buffet food, sometimes a bit cool, but there was a good choice and cooked steak/chicken/ pork to order. I loved it! :-) . Mika who works in the sunbed/towel hut was such an amazing member of staff. She is such a good people person and is without a doubt a credit to the hotel Our room 540 was superb and the maid kept our room spotless. Plenty of room for us, buy they need to put bedside table/draws next to each bed. The A/C was not cold enough, but it was 35 most days. The room fridge was great and really cold for our water etc. Bathroom was fab and had plenty hotel shampoo/shower gell which smelled really nice. Sunbed area by the sea was amazing and we went there everyday as it was quiet. Sunbeds were great quallity, but if you want one by the beach area, you need to be there for 9am SHARP! All in all, my wife and I had a fab holiday. Thank you to all the staff, they were amazing! 10/10!

We recently stayed at Alua Gran Camp de Mar and, unfortunately, it didn’t live up to its 4-star rating. In our opinion, it’s much closer to a 3-star hotel. The biggest disappointment was the food. The buffet was poor, with very little variety, and it was almost exactly the same every day. There wasn’t enough choice to put together a decent meal, and by the end of the holiday we were eating out instead. The all-inclusive drinks system was frustrating too. You have to use tokens to get drinks, and there simply aren’t enough staff behind the bars, meaning long queues throughout the day. I also have to agree with another recent review mentioning a strange man seen watching children around the hotel. What made this even more concerning is that there appears to be no security at all – anyone can simply walk into the hotel grounds, which didn’t make us feel particularly safe. Another issue was the sunbeds. If you weren’t out by 8:30–9:00am, you had virtually no chance of getting one as they were all taken. There are some positives. The location is lovely, with a beautiful beach just a short walk away. The rooms were clean enough, and the beds were comfortable, so we slept well. Overall, the location is the hotel’s biggest selling point, but the food, poor bar service, lack of security, and sunbed situation mean we wouldn’t return.

We have just arrived back from a 5 night stay, the location of this hotel is lovely as very close to the beach with wonderful views, but quite quiet and not much to do close by. The hotel was very dated and to me was not luxurious and felt like a 3* not a 4*. On arrival Ross was brilliant and super friendly/helpful (great at his job) Our room was booked for 2 adults and a child, unfortunately on arrival there was only one bed in a very small room, sharing a bed with a 5 year old is not comfortable so none of us slept for the first 2 nights, on the 3rd night a small pop up bed was delivered into our room and finally we all slept , however we then had zero floor space, rooms are very small and the bathroom was TINY, the toilet had a window to the side overlooking the hotel opposite so when sitting on it you felt very exposed! Cleaners were very efficient and kept everything tidy and clean , tbf the cleaning staff were all very hard working and extremely friendly unlike the bar staff! I don’t think we came across a friendly member of staff on any bar and tbh it put me off getting a drink, they were rude and I felt like I was always putting them out when asking for a drink, you had to hand your glass back to get a token so it was a very annoying system and time consuming process to get a drink at an all inclusive hotel! Obviously this is done on purpose to slow people down from drinking what they want, In the end we went over the road and paid for drinks at another bar. The food was quite good, the snack bar very disappointing, also no ice creams anywhere, what does a 5 year old want all the time?? Ice cream! So constantly at the shop buying them, not good at all for an all inclusive hotel. The subbeds ran out ridiculously quickly and most lost sun half way through the day. The private room with a tv and the quieter breakfast room we could use were a nice addition but you had to pay extra to be part of that and they only had zero % beer, no alcoholic this room . There was a adults only area to sunbathe and beautiful sun beds that lined the rocks that were free of charge if you were part of the my favourite club, there was also a stunning seating area at the back of the hotel which was shaded by trees and had a beautiful view of the sea, this was by far the best bit of the hotel. The entertainment team were fantastic and worked very hard, they remembered the kids names and are always so kind and friendly. There was always different entertainment on in the evenings and a kids disco which they loved. The arcades room was very popular with our daughter and her friend. We would highly recommend Illeta (the restaurant in the sea) it’s fantastic and we ate there most days, the staff and food were next to none! Unfortunately we had an incident on our last day with a very strange man hanging around the pool area trying to talk to the children, lurking behind walls watching the children, a number of us felt extremely uncomfortable and spoke to management who didn’t seem to care very much, the lifeguard on the other hand was very concerned and helpful. The same evening the man turned up again it this time inside the hotel (he wasn’t even a guest at the hotel) he was again watching the kids and actually pickied up someone else’s toddler, kissed them on the cheek and commented how beautiful they were!! This was wrong on so many levels, after numerous complaints the manager finally asked him to leave! Please people watch your children and don’t get too relaxed because you’re on holiday, he was pretending to be friendly but was definitely up to something. We also saw him throwing some room key cards over the wall he was hiding behind during the day (which made us think during his time at the pool he had stollen somebody’s wallet and emptied it out and got rid of the evidence) once again the manager didn’t seem too worried about this.
